Suicide by succubus

This idea has been strumming away in my head for some time. The premise is simple. Our lead wants to kill him/herself. The reason isn't necessarily important (as, aside from specialized cases, sucide is rarely one single thing) but they've begun to contemplate it and even plan it out. Maybe they've taken care of their affairs, maybe they've just rushed into it but they want to kill themselves and they want to do it in a unique way. They've tried the spell before, maybe it didn't work, maybe they half-assed it, but this time the spell works and the demon appears.

The demon barely gets out its introductions before the lead makes his/her request. They want the succubus to sleep with them and take their soul. Maybe they quickly affirm that their soul being remove would kill them and confirm that the succubus can do it first but in any case, they make the offer and the succubus, after mulling it over, gives a response.

While there's plenty of ways the story could go, it ultimately would break down to:

Succubus kills them

Succubus refuses to kill them

Succubus agrees but then either changes mind or Lead changes mind.

Here's a couple of ideas I had with that premise:

1. The succubus refuses. Not out of pity or concern but rather because the soul of someone who is in the grips of despair would offer no nourishment and even make her ill. However, she has a counter-offer: break the circle and let her become the lead's companion. She'll help the lead through their pain and bring joy back to their life. What have they got to lose? Our lead does so and the succubus begins living with them, using the cover story of being their girlfriend. The succubus helps them seek out actual aide, cleans up their life, and ultimately, gets the lead to start enjoying life again.

However, the succubus has a darker motive: she wants to fill the lead with joy as a soul that overcomes despair and reaches the peaks of happiness is the most delicious thing a succubus can consume. Maybe she even is upfront with the lead about it and the lead has to make the choice of losing their soul or banishing the only person who could make them feel as happy as the succubus has made them feel.

2. The suicide is only a framing device. The actual story is about a man who fell in love with a succubus and unintentionally drove her from him. A fantasy story, it shows his rise to power with her at his side and then his fall as he makes pursuits that even she has to stand against. Wanting to see his beloved one last time, he tries to summon her, only for a different demon to appear, who says she took over for her after her death. Heartbroken, he begs for death. The succubus agrees to aide him but only if he says what led him to this. The man tells his story and at the end, the succubus either gives him a gentle death or simply holds his hand and agrees to stay with him until he passes away naturally...revealing that she is in fact the man's half-demon daughter.

As always, feel free to sahre your own ideas.

Idea number one, I like it and would like to read it right now. The idea of her building him up for nourishment is brilliant :D The majority will want a rosy ending, but I think the ending should be dark. Let her take his re-nourished joyous soul without warning him.
