Suggestions for Pirate's arm-tattoos(s)?

In honor of talk like a pirate day (Sept 19) I have been on a minor pirate kick.

I just started a drawing this morning and as it was progressing, I became aware of the blank canvas of his arm.

I would like to hear some suggestions for tattoo designs.

A mermaid or a sexy lady- maybe with the name of the person's love on it?

A parrot

Knotted rope?

I like how it is going.
I had a vague notion of the pirate with his captive and using a balying pin suggestively...but no idea exactly how it would come out...

A suggestion about her dress, back then the dresses would usually be plain if it were a common lady. If she were of wealth, she would likely have a dress made of broquade, a tone on tone fabric where the pattern is woven into the base fabric with a silk thread to add a sheen.

Fancy fabric was way too expensive for common women to have 'prints'. I would tend to think more of solid dark colours or colours that you would see in nature since it would be dyed in natural colour baths.

Or I may just be tooting out my arse! lol
