My wife and I are planning a trip to vegas next month and are trying to figure out what big show to see. We really loved the Cirque du Soliel show KA, and I've seen Mystere, which was also great. I'd say that the two shows are at the extremes: KA is a huge, complex narrative production using bleeding-edge technology, and Mystere is very simple and performance based. We were hoping to find something that encorporated the story elements and production quality of KA. I've been reading up on two shows, specifically: Le Reve and 'O'. I'm also curious about the new CdS show, LOVE. If anyone has any first-hand insight, please let me know!

Thanks!

i've never been to LV but have a friend who's been a number of times... i'll shoot her an email and see if she has any suggestions. blueman group is something i've always been interested in but if i ever go it'll be to play cards.

also, if you have the travel channel they have programs about vegas travel just about every weekend... what shows to see, where to stay, what to ask for, etc.

the reply just came back and here's what she's recommending (though she hasn't personally seen them all)...

La Cage at Rivera

Folies Bergere at Tropicana

Mystere at Treasure Island

Crazy Girls at Rivera

Danna Gans at Mirage (i'm sure she meant danny gans the impressionist)

Jubilee at Bally's

You can't go wrong with The Blue Man Group. It's a seriously good show.

Thumbs up on the Blue Man Group too.

Just got back from seeing that show and it was great.

Blue Man Group

Is it the same show as the video they released about a year or so ago... The 'rock' show? We watched that and loved it, but I think that's something I'd want to take my daughter to... I might have to wait until she's with us for an LV trip.

Anything else?

What about stuff off the strip?

I've never been to Vegas, and I don't even know if they're still showing this, but I heard that the Beatles Cirque de Soliel is incredible! I would kill to go to that show.

I can vote for Cirque du Soleil! Have not seen all the shows and am not sure what they perform at the moment in Vegas, but you can't go wrong. Even if you're not too fond of the circus-thing per se, because this is different. Go see one of their shows if you have a chance to!
