Subscriptions Not Showing Automatically?

I was off of Lit Sexual Role Playing for about 5 months and have recently begun again. I am subscribed to a thread. My memory may have just failed me, but I thought that it used to be that when I logged on the list of subscriptions would populate at the bottom half of the screen. Now, I have to go to Quick Links and choose "Subscribed Threads", then the subscription shows.

Was this always that way and I'm misremembering? Or, do I have to choose an option?
