Hi All,
I just was wondering about submittions. How long do they normally take to get on to the boards and do they notify you when they put them up?
I submitted mine via email, and its been about two weeks or longer.
I would appreciate anyones input on this.

This question comes up so often, MathGirl has become the designated responder. However, your case is a tad different, so I'll take a shot. Three to five days is "normal" but during contests, non-contest entries tend to take longer that usual. And I'm not sure about the time period on e-mail submissions.

You might send a PM to OBL (our beloved leader) Laurel and ask about the situation. It's possible your e-mail was lost in the ozone. Noitce I said to send her a PM. E-mails to Laurel often get lost in the shuffle.

I've had two stories pending for a week now. That's the longest I've ever had to wait. I guess they are just busy right now. I know the valentine contest just ended so that could explain why it's taking a while. I know before it's never taken more than 3 days.

If you open any one of the sticky's she has posted at the top of this forum you will find the option to PM at the bottom of it. And questions that seem silly to you aren't necessarily of blonde quality...folks here are friendly (for the most part) and don't mind at all helping out.

To be fair, the only reason I'm helping you is because you seem to be freely handing out kisses to those that do (whether you remember their name or not) and I was hoping to get in on some of that

Welcome, Cealy and feel free to ask any questions you want. Nobody will think you are dumb if you ask reasonable questions because we all had to learn somehow. The only reason people might think you are dumb is if you don't learn to spell "submissions"

LOL I never said I was a good speller, thats why there are editors! LOL
However I am blonde ( most days) there for being good at spelling isnt expected of me in the real world! lol
Thank you for all your help, what I did do was hop onto one of those stickies and pmed Laurel, now Im not sure if I posted it to her properly. I thought I went through the guidelines the way they explained, and it even came back with 'You have already submitted a story with that title'- Now what??? Techno-geeks help!!

Wait. Laurel's usually pretty good about getting back to PM's but she does get swamped at times and may miss some. If you haven't heard anything in a day or two, send her another PM.

As for you being computer-challege, since you live in Texas, drop by Mike Dell's offiice at Dell Computers in Austin. I'm sure he'd be glad to give you a few kind words of wisdom.

I got some inside help from Lucky E-leven, she's been a great help. I now sit and wait patiently, or not so patiently as most of my friends say.

Just an update, my story did make it through, but it was rejected. The reason, the paragraphs were too long. I went through and split up the love scene a little and now it reads like you are jerking the big one! lol ( another friends idea! lol)

Yes, I have wierd friends! lol
Now to see if the second submission passes their test.
