Can anyone tell me how to submit an illustrated poem please? i tried and i failed. badly. lol. twice.

Email it, baby, that is what I do

Make it into a nice JPG file that email it to submit@literotica.com.
For the subject of your email, put 'submission'.
Then in the email, put your literotica name, the name of your submission and the category.
Attach the illustrated poetry to the email...attach it!...then email it out.
When you submit it on literotica, put in the "Notes" box "Poem submitted via email".

And make sure

your jpeg file also meets the size requirements for artwork submissions here. Here's what the Lit faq says:

Image must be no more than 320 pixels wide, 240 pixels high, and under 40k in size. (Note: we will size the image to fit if we are able to do so. However, if we are unable to shrink the image, you will need to resubmit.)

Also note that illustrated pieces often take longer to post after you submit them than nonillustrated ones, sometimes up to four or five days after you submit. If more than a week goes by though and your submission is still in pending status, pm Laurel and let her know. Sometimes illustrated or audio files go missing.

Good luck. :)

Lauren posted this a couple years ago and I have used it many times as a reference when posting my illustrated poems:

Send the image as an attachment to submit@literotica.com with "Title of your poem - ARTWORK" in the subject line and saying:

In attachment: yourfilename.jpg - Artwork to be added to "Title of your poem" submitted by yourname through the regular submission form.

Make sure the file is 450 pixels wide or less and under 40K

Next, submit a poem in the regular fashion with your poem in the text field and write this in your notes:

- artwork yourfilename.jpg submitted via e-mail by youremailaddress@yourhost.com

Don't write anything else, don't upload any files because it ends up being a garbled mess of codes.

Are you still submitting the larger (450 wide) files? I noticed some months ago that the size requirement "shrunk" (which depressed me cause I'm never happy with the font size on 450). Maybe the info in the faq is wrong?

Oh and Happy New Year papa. :)

Hmm I've always kept my width at 450, but the length didn't seem to matter as long as it wasn't overly extended. I keep my file size right at 40k and don't have a problem. I posted three illustrated poems in November and they were to those specs.

Happy New Year to you too, girly ;)

If the rules have really changed the width of illustrated poems and they are enforcing that then I'm going to throw a hissy fit!

The rules changed about a year ago. If you haven't been having problems, just be quiet and continue to do it. :D

Never seen you have one. Ought to be interresting. Do you whine, rant or squeal? ;)

Real men don't squeal. ;) It's probably more of a whine when a I throw a fit since ranting is more confortational and I avoid that at any cost.

haha

I'll hush then. ;)

Hello goldeni...

long time no see....

the above process should work, I do mine the other way which is paste the jpg into a doc file or .rtf or .txt >> wordpad with those available (most are) then add the poem unless the poem is the art <grin> and upload at your submit page...

I had more trouble than I can express with illustrated poems, trial and error was the teacher for me. But That is how I do mine.
