submitting a story queston

Three to five days, when there isn't a topical contest going on, with the newer authors taking on the longer end. But a contest starts tomorrow (and contest stories get priority posting), so it might take a new author's first work or two up to seven days to post.

How long does it normally take for approval.

One thing to add to sr71plt's remark. Do not and I repeat do not unless you think you screwed something up. View it while it's pending and make a change it will set it back in the que. Found that out the hard way.

Welcome to Literotica and the AH. Have you read the FAQ?

How long will it take for my story to be posted?

This depends on how many stories we're currently receiving. We try to balance it so that submissions are posted as quickly as possible without overloading the reader and possibly burying your story. A story submitted to Literotica through the procedure outlined above generally will be posted to Lit within 3-7 days.

If we have problems with your story which prevent its publication (i.e. technical issues, etc.), we will let you know via an email to the address on your profile. If a story is submitted strictly via email without following the procedure above, then your story may take weeks to be posted. We highly recommend you follow the steps above.

And actually, that's a bit outdated. If your story is rejected, you won't receive an email. At least I don't think you won't...it's been a long time since I've had a story rejected. You will, however, see a rejection link beside your story submission. If you click the link it'll give you reasons why (often formed in a question: "Did you check spelling?" for example) and if everything is hunky-dory, resubmit the story with a note in the Notes field saying the problem has been corrected.

Okay, I'm replying way more than needed for "the question" you asked. Anyway, good luck with your story posting. If you plan on being active on the message boards, be sure to include a link to your stories in your sig (that's the stuff under that little line down there at the bottom of this post.) It's a good way to get people to read you. Well that, and entering one of the special contests, but being new you might not want to yet, or maybe you would.....okay, shutting up now. :)

Well, not yet. One more thing. What lovecraft said about not viewing it while you see the little blue pending link? Yeah, that will just cause your story to be moved to the end of the line and it'll take even longer for it to be approved. Of course, that goes back to the whole rejection thing too. If you have to resubmit your story after a rejection, it goes to the end of the line and you have to wait for it to be approved. And yeah, during a special contest like the Valentine's Day contest, it might take a bit longer, especially if you're a new author. (Just like the pilot man said)

Hey, forgive my rambling. I've just quit smoking and I've got to keep my hands busy. No, I can't do that either. Stop being perverted, even though this is a porn site and.....
