Submitted story in pending limbo: question

Hi,
I'm a relatively new author and have a quick question about submissions. I submitted a story on 8/6 and it is still pending as of 8/10. I understand that is well within the standard window. However, on 8/8 I submitted a different story and that one is no longer pending-- but it is also not published. It has an orange tag next to it that says "New." I checked Erotic Couplings but my story isn't there. Can anyone enlighten me as to what's going on? I'm sorry if this has been answered before--a search didn't yield anything about this so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

The one with the New tag will appear overnight tonight.

The other one, the next day of two, probably.

There's really little rhyme or reason as to the order. Were they both submitted in EC?

Thanks for the quick reply and the answer. They were both submitted in EC. I thought it was odd that one I submitted two days earlier is still pending and the longer one, submitted on the 8th, had a "new" badge next to it. I've only ever submitted two other stories before so I'm super green, but I had never seen "new" before, especially when it hasn't been accepted yet.
