Submitted a story. How long before it gets approved?

I have submitted a story about 10 days back. Still not approved. What to do?
I have also tried to submit a post before this. But I got some error. So pardon me if this is being posted again.

Mine usually took about a week, but the one I submitted for the holiday contest got accepted in a day. So it might depend on the category. Log in and check your submissions, see if there have been any views. I've found that I usually get a couple a day or two before it gets accepted.

A week is normal but with the holiday contest it might take a little longer....

If you had a problem posting, most of the time it's because you forgot to log in.... and sometimes Lit gets a little slow if to many of us pound the boards to hard....

A little over a week seems to be about standard during contest time. Take a deep breath, have some chocolate and enjoy the entertainment.....I mean uh...discussions.... here at the AH.

I find that with a regular submission it takes a week, but if you submitted something for a special contest, like the one we are in right now(Winter Contest), then that submission will just take a couple of days.

I wish she'd check in to say she's okay.

But if it is not a competition entry, and it is submitted while the contest is running, as one is now, normal submissions take MUCH longer.
