Hi. I submitted a story for literotica some time ago, and I did my final edit of the story about 6 days ago. Its still listed as "pending". I have no unusual formating or graphics and I haven't touched the story since my final edit. Is it usual for stories to take so long?

It can be, yes. Especially during contest time, since they get moved to the front of the line.

Welcome :)

Edited to add: If you went back in to edit your story six days ago, all previous wait time was forfeited. Any time you click the "pending" link you get bumped back to the back of the line I'm told.

Really? Every time you click, even if you didn't change anything?

Shit! Accidental click, but still...

I assume it's built into the system. Which does have a certain logic to it, seeing as otherwise people could alter their stories to include verboten topics after they've been screened.

I've waited three years to submit again. A few more days is something I can live through, especially given that the part I was responsible for is done with.

Did you have writer's block or did you spend too much time on the AH?

asks Carson, who should be working on his novel as we speak....

You see...

Well...

Okay, it's like this...

*ahem* I'm lazy...

Actually, I started to write about thirty different stories, and was toying with too many plots at once. Mind in eight million directions at once. And yes, I've got the whole novel thing going on too, and I'm working as hard as you apparently. lol

I hesitate to even mention the word novel... it builds expectations and then I feel all tight in my chest....

:D

The Earth Day contest started yesterday so that means that all contest entries take precedence in publishing over the regular stuff. I would suggest checking your entries each day to ensure that they haven't been rejected for one reason or another and being patient. Laurel usually does a great job with getting things out.

Com'on mods!

Mine went up yesterday. Ten days. You're pretty much on schedule right now.

And I don't think the "mods" often read many threads, so chance are Laurel and Manu know nothing of your impatience.

Not trying to be rude, just pointing that out.

Later,
