Hi all,

First off, I'd like to thank all the authors for their patience during this difficult time. Yes, we currently have a hellaciously huge backlog. However, The End Is Near. Honest! We are mere weeks away from launching the new scripts, and within a month of the launch I hope to have the backlog completely cleared away. After that point, not only will it take less than 24-48 hours for your story to appear on the site, but you'll be able to enjoy the new features the script offers.

If you're thinking I have an ulterior motive for posting all this happy stuff, you'd be correct. I need your help, folks. I continue to receive submissions the old-fashioned way via email, which puts me further behind. If you don't mind too much, I'd appreciate if you all could begin submitting your stories at the link below:
http://www.literotica.net/literotica/login.php

Important: Submitting via the form will NOT put your story on the site tomorrow. It WILL add your story to the new database, so that when we launch the new scripts within the next few weeks, your story will be on the new site. As you know, this is preferable to waiting behind the current backlog.

If you've submitted a story via email, but decide to try and submit it through the new system, please let me know.

If you are a member to the BB, you will have a username and password already. If you're an author who's submitted previously, you'll more than likely have an account. Email me if you have any questions re: your account.

Any and all feedback on the new submission system is appreciated. Thanks again, and Happy Submitting!

Bravo! Kudos and smooches to you and Manu and Weird Harold and Lasher and anybody else who contributed to this smashing enhancement.

I just submitted 2 new stories under the new script. Very simple, took a couple minutes if that for each story. Got an edit when I failed to complete a field.

You might want to check quickly and see if my stories did make it OK, just so you know everything is working properly. They did make it to my list of stories and appear in blue as "pending." I uploaded the story as a Word 97 document. I assume the document was saved properly but I am not absolutely sure. Maybe a message like "Document successfully uploaded" would be appropriate.

I love it!

Yeah, OK, though 1 question.

I submitted 3 stories a long time ago. There was the "Friends" one, the "Amy" one and a third on e called, "You're Special". The first two were published, but the third vanished without a trace,; what happened?

Great Job Laurel and Manu

I just posted my "Streaming Video Date" poem via the new script. I seemed very easy to use!

I also like how we will be able to check our votes tally!!!

Nice Guy

Hmm...I will check on that and let you know. Did you email me about it previously?

The new script for story submissions looks GREAT!

Two hints/questions though:

Hint: I would think the "only use one of the two possible upload options" might need to be a little more "outstanding". It is written in red but how about bold and red? Just a fact I noticed, that people rarely read what comes below the fields they are using.

Question: Audio submissions
Would you still want those via e-mail? Including the written story?

Good point about the upload options - I'll pass that on to Manu.

For now, audio and pics will have to be sent the old way, via email. The script is set up for you to submit audio & pictures, but we've disabled those features for now. We want to concentrate on the stories & poems and get all the bugs worked out before we open the floodgates to all submissions. So, yes, in the future you'll be able to submit everything via the form, but no, that's not available at the moment.

Love the new thingerdoodlebobbymajig whats it called again?

I have one last story floating around in your bottomless inbox. I'm going to resubmit it with the new scripts cause I caught a major error in it (okay, so maybe I blow my booboos out of proportion, but more kisses make it better). It's the only by me in there, I have no idea what the title of it is. I forget these things. The name of the guy, should you open it, is Wring, as in wring the StudMuffin's neck.

This be okay Madame WebMistress? (do you get a whip and leather with the job?)

Yes'm. And if anyone else wants to do the same thing, let me know.

Hey Laurel, I love the way the new script works, it makes sending stories (like the one I just submitted) so much easier than linking to email. Keep up the great work and I hope it's up and running full steam soon, 'cause I feel a creative streak coming on!

It's probably me, but after pasting the text of my latest submission, the preview showed that a lot of carriage returns had been added so that instead of my story flowing smoothly down the screen, it went
line, half-line, line, half-line, line, etc.

When I uploaded the file instead, the preview was OK. (Well, there's one extra CR, but I left it!) I don't know if anyone else has had problems, but I'll stick to uploading instead of pasting.

I like the basic premise of the system, it makes it so much easier to submit work.

One final point - my profile says that I'm interested in 'Nothing'. 'Tain't so, but where do I say that I'm interested in my readers? Both of them?

Hi Laurel, just wanted to let you know, I sent you a few mails, through regular email today,(9th) I submitted everything, and send you a letter too. Also, I sent my submissions to the new site (script) as I found out after, you preferred them there. I hope I did everything right, LOL.

I uploaded them as word documents, so I hope that is ok. It is important that my italic parts stays as is, so I hope it turns out ok. Please read the previous mails I sent earlier today before sending here, ok? I hope I didn't confuse you too much, I did try. I sent my stories submissions through the submit literotica one, and another mail to just Literotica. I think I enclosed a message in the submit one too. Yikes!

All the best, Katerina

The Italics and Bold should be fine if you use cut and paste from Word to the submission form. Some of the special characters like the long dash and ellipsis characters might not translate that way. I have those auto-correct options turned off in my Word, and therefore didn't think to test them.

I didn't find the cut-off point for the paste function in the form, I think the amount of memory available for your clipboard is going to be the limiting factor for most.

So I can't upload my dratted mp3 to you through the new scripts? Well DRAT! Whalemail sux. I'm uploading it tonight then darling Laurellykins, so you'll have 14 days to download it, otherwise it's poof into the dratted cyber whale's belly.

By the way, I have the capability of putting the stupid things into .wav, .mp3, .rm, or .wma formats. Which flavor do you prefer? .wavs are, in all actuality, entirely too large to handle. .mp3s are much smaller, so I've been doing those. However, I am amenable.

WH, I tried pasting in Fantasy, as I am resubmitting all my stories. I did rewrites on the three current ones I have in Lit as well as finally finish Summers. Only took me a year! God...Oh well, I do hope they are enjoyed.

Anyways, when I pasted Fantasy, which has alot of italics, none of them showed up. So, I scrapped that idea and just uploaded my word docs... a few of my stories are in dream and reality sequences so the italic has to stay...but I was not sure if Laurel would see italics from pasting it in because I couldn't. All the fonts went the same. So I just uploaed. I also sent her in the regular email, so hopefully she sorts if out. I hate confusing her. Anyways, thats if for now...just thought I should let you know, the italics didn't show when I pasted as you said.

Oh my GAWD the motherhumper is STILL 12.9 megabytes. What the hell! And, in 1985, Bill Gates said that we'd NEVER have use for a computer with more than 500,000 kilobytes. I zipped that bad boy, squeezed it down to 10.2mb I think. It's on it's way to WhaleMail now, I'll email you the notification tonight Laurelove.

Hi Laurel

I went and looked at your submission form. I'm not quite ready to submit a story, as I'm not finished editing it yet, but I do have a suggestion on the page the form is on.

Some of the writing at the bottom ran into the blue border background in my browser, and I couldn't read that portion. Plus some of the fields also ran into it, and I thought it didn't really look right. Perhaps changing the background for that page might help.

Plus I'm curious. With this system in place, will all stories submitted go up automatically, or do you have a chance to edit them and/or preview them? Just curious, as how your system will prevent stories that are either badly written, or violate your 18 year old rule.

It's great!!!!

I just want to tell you all, the new script method of submitting your story is fabulous! I sent three stories that are currently "pending" (by the way it tells you that too)...its just incredible. It takes no time at all, AND one of the best features is that it gives you an automatic "preview" of you submitted story. Definitely don't use the email method any longer.

Hugs and kisses, Brandi (Lil-Brandi)

Laurel, the new submission method is excellent. It's easy and the ability to preview it is great. I look forward to the increased feedback on my stories.

A question though, are previous submissions to be merged into the new scripts?

They are converting the old stories to new script if I understand right.

I remember somewhere Laurel mentioning spending a whole weekend converting older stories to the new script pages. They got about 3,000 converted on that one weekend. So I would think that is a yes to the question.
