Submission to Publishing Time

Guess I'm a little miffed at the time it is taking to publish another chapter of a continuing story. I have read all the rules and regulations about how long it takes, how busy the person(s) who read the stories, and why you shouldn't hit the "Submit" button when going into the "Pending" page.

Is eleven days normal to get something published?

If something within the story is offensive or not within Literotica guidelines, shouldn't the story be "Denied" with explanations to make it palatable to Literotica?

Every other submission had 5 views before it was accepted, the last one has 18 and still it shows as "Pending".

Venting can be such a pain-in-the-ass, but I feel like I had to do it. Whatever the consequences so be it, but I'm just wondering:

"What gives?"

Um, no I would say 11 days is not normal, but then I don't really know. Unless you had something that was borderline per Lit's requirements as far as story content. You could PM/email Laurel or Manu and ask what is up. As long as it still says "Pending" than that means it hasn't been denied. If it were, you would be able to click on it and find out the reason behind it.

As far as having 18 veiws, I've heard differing takes on that. Some say that people re-submit their stories, causing it to be a "view". I'm not sure I go along with that. I've had one reliable source tell me that those views mean that Laurel has/is looking at the story.

Good luck! I hope your story gets posted soon!

Just out of curiosity...I have never asked this before.

What are literotica's criteria for stories? I have seen some that are stellar, worthy of mainstream print publication, and I have read those that are nothing but grammar and spelling mistakes and made it painful to read.

So...IS there a criteria?

And in answer to the original question...my stories were all up within a week. Everyone else I have talked to about it has been up in that same amount of time. So, no, it's probably NOT normal. Contact Laurel!

I don't understand - how could a story that is still pending have had any views at all?

Laurel has to view it to read it. Also, if you go back and look at the text of the story (which you can do while it's pending) that can earn you a view.

It is odd that it took 11 days, but occasionally Laurel gets flooded with submissions and has to look at things several times if there are any borderline things in it.

As to the guidelines...essentially it has to be readable, no rape (non consent requires that the 'victim' enjoys it), no one under 18 in a sexual situation, no beastiality. There's a full text version of the requirements somewhere.

Thanks all but after I posted it was approved.

Read it again and found two spelling mistakes that my editor and I missed. I was thinking the use of a certain word was stopping the publishing.

I haven't seen any votes yet, but I'm happy it was accepted and posted.

Again, thanks...
