well my lovely peeps. here we have the fundamental difference between Freud & Jung.

So what is it that floats your boat? Sub or Un?

SUBconscious when referring to thoughts/feelings. UNconscious when referring to the state of being. Drives me batty otherwise.

I love the question.

Subconscious for me, and here's why: the barrier seems thinner and at least partially self-constructed. Things stay there because you them there - but the mere act of submerging them implies awareness. It's like playing the pea-and-shell game with yourself - a little deliberate blithness about the monster that walks beside you.

It's quite delightful.

I used to be Jung and Anna Freud. But now I'm Adler.

The english language is interesting in that regard. Other languages such as French only have the unconscious (inconscient) but no the sub-

Both Jung and Freud would agree on the term in French :)

Subconscious is what I am after eight pints.

Unconscious is what I am after twelve. (I think. Lose count after ten.)

Well, Dr. Fraud, I say no more (thumb in nose) why feminists rely on him is beyond my consciousness  I like, hm ... Paglia, fiesty little lesbian, now there is a pseudo Jungian :D

As for the rest of you Subwayians, and S/d's, you are all sick, according to Dr. Fraud. At least, Jung believed in UFO's for god sake, and women. ;)

I need to see myself with the Naked I, before even attempting to participate constructively in this conversation; the topic fascinates me.

You are still stuck in the mirror stage. Pleasure the principal, that should do it! ;)
