Words:
Backfeifengesicht
a face that looks like it deserves to be slapped,

Onomatopoeic
word that represents a sound

Cockalorum
a self-important little man; bragging talk; crowing

Unctuous
Excessively ingratiating or insincerely earnest

And two of my favorite newly learned words:
Calliphygian
beautifully shaped buttocks

Rutiluphile
attraction to redheads

And if you combine those last two, I'd be in heaven!

Try to say this fast three times.

Backfeifengesicht, Backfeifengesicht, Backfeifengesicht.

Cockalorum

Oh, lovely! Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day figuring out how to use it as an insult.

Rutiluphile
attraction to redheads

@TheLobster I bet @StillStunned put this as the "Word of the Century" in his whiteboard back at home.

... ummm, actually, the correct (German) spelling is "Backpfeifengesicht", with a "p". In German, "Backe" = "cheek" (for both facial and ass, if you're curious, so "Arschbacke" = ass cheek). A "Backpfeife" is a slap to the (facial) cheek, often as humiliating punishment and the "Backpfeifengesicht" is the result of a couple of those leaving your cheeks bruised. For another useless foreign language fact:

In German, "Pfeife" is the literal translation of "whistle" but also an outdated insult. "Verschwinde von der Straße, du Pfeife!" (get off the road you idiot) used to get you in trouble if a cop was in hearing distance.

I'll stop with the unsolicited German lesson now. :)

No, don't. Any mistake needs correction. I found that (like all the rest ) on the interwebs. I am updating my "words I think are fabulous" file.
