Stuck on a Story

Give it time. Come back to it, re-read and adjust if you need to, and even put down a sentence or two if you can. I get this all the time, usually right as the sex starts. Keep at it - seriously, sometimes you just need to back off for a while, or try something different.
Good story, by the way.

I've found that when I get stuck on a section - it sometimes helps if I just skip it - everyone who reads this knows there's a steamy sex scene - if you can't get the scene done - well, what happens next? Do they fall asleep next to each other? Does he flee, leaving her feel lonely / used? Does he take her home? What - Think about where you want these two to end up - then work on how they get there.

I hope I'm making sense.

Good Luck - I'd like to see more of this story

I'll concur with the last response. If you know what happens *after* the point where you're stuck, go ahead and write that. I've done that frequently, even writing scenes from other character's perspectives that have nothing to do with the scene where I'm stuck, and it has broken up the logjam in my brain.

thanks all

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for the feedback. I'd gotten stuck writing one "section" of the story and once I just set it aside and wrote *after* that, I realized that the original "section" was completely irrelevant to the main story. So I actually wrote today--not my best writing by any means, but hey I'm not complaining!

Again, thanks :)

Sometimes I'm in the mood to write smut, sometimes not. When I am, I work on that part of a story. If not I skip forward to a different part. I rarely write a story from start to finish in one even line.

I can't write hot sex unless I'm fully involved. You know, semen seeping through pants, etc. Maybe I'm being a bit too honest ??? Or I could be lying. You figure it out, if you even care enough to.
