First of all, let me preface by stating how much I love this site! After receiving wonderful responses tp my first story, I thought I would be adventuresome and submit an illustrated story as my second.

Thus began the journey of despair.

I uploaded a .doc file complete with pictures. Despite the FAQ, this was rejected due to file type.

No worries, I resubmiited the story in the normal fashion, and emailed the pictures (my own work) to submit@literotica.com. I put placeholders in the story text for the pictures. I sized the latter according to the FAQ, and offered to resize if necessary.

Again rejected, this time the reason was for some incorrect punctuation in character dialogue.

My bad - I corrected the punctuation and resent the 4 pictures.

AGAIN rejected - stated reason was that pictures did not arrive?! This I found to be questionable. It is quite easy to send a file as an email attachment. I checked the sent email and it was to the correct target address. Nevertheless, I resubmitted the story again, and this time sent the pictures one at a time (4 total).

Hung in 'pending' ever since. No response - not via email nor via 'pending' button.

Sent a pm to Laurel last week. Thanked her for the wonderful site.

No response. Nada. Nyet.

This is why people join the Tea Party. I don't want to join the Tea Party. Please help!!!

BTW - this site is way cool. What should I do? Drink less coffee?

First off, quit hitting the pending button. It sends the story to the rear of the line.

Secondly, there has been a contest going on until just the other day and things are a little backed up.

Third, always PM laurel as E-mails seem to get lost in the spam filters.

Fourth, good luck.

I did PM Laurel last week and did not hear back. Thanks for the tip about the pending button; I did not know it sent the story to the back of the line! I was hitting the pending button to see if there was some sort of response.

Hey Hankstr:

I agree with TxRad; you submitted at a busy time with the ending of the contest. I have a weekly story and my newest chapter is taking longer than usual this week.

Another idea that might save you some delays: have you thought of having an editor from the site look over your submission first. I have heard great things about the editors here, and they have the experience to avoid some of the file type issues that you have experienced plus the whole punctuation resubmit could have been avoided.

If for some reason your submission bounces again don't run off to the Tea Party get in touch with one of the editors here. Good luck and let me know when you have some thing posted as I would love to read it.

All the best - Litfan10

Thanks litfan10,
I did not factor in the contest. I guess it is akin to getting a taxi to JFK from Manhattan when a parade is in the works! I'll also plan on taking advantage of the editors next time. I put a lot of work into the story and artwork and would hate to see it be all for naught.
kind regards, hankster
(sorry if any Tea party members have been offended by this thread!)
