I re-upped my Verizon Wireless contract last week and was going to do just that, but then I read online that the 5 could be out by October. I decided to wait because it should be LTE and I'm already paying for unlimited data.

I don't know what LTE is, but I've lived with a Blackberry for 5 years (which really suck for web stuff) so anything would be an upgrade.

I've heard the 5 will cost $600. That's a bit pricey for a simple man like me. The 4S is $199.

No can do. Johnny plans to shut down the office later this year and 'work' from home. The whole she-bang is going to be Apple and cloud based. Except the copier. Apple doesn't make a big copier.

LTE = 4G = faster internet, downloads, video streaming, etc.

The high-end (64 GB) 4S is $399. Apple usually replaces products at the same price-point, so I doubt the 5 is going to be $500...unless they bump it up to 128GB or make it out of titanium.
