I'd say spy as well. Money tends to be overrated, so I'd say the motive should be based on intelligence for her country (pictures, secrets, etc) and maybe she finds something that makes her loyalty conflicted

The spy, betrayed, and now fugitive, pursued by former friends, sheltered by former enemies, forced to adopt countless disguises and relocations, something like that. Make it slick.

My vote is a spy who has been compromised so she has to go dark. Using the assets she has cultivated including a hunky spy from a different agency and with her skill set she goes about uncovering the layers of deception that led her to becoming dark.

In one of my for sale works I have a "femme Nikita" in fact her name is Nicole. She is a former CTU agent turned professional bodyguard and a stone cold man hater.

Her lover is witch so they are a fun couple.

Wouldn't go over well here. They are strong, powerful and kill a lot of men.
