I was wondering what kind of "gangs" you have in your neck o' the woods? "Authorities" say they're everywhere, but I don't notice them. When I lived in Seattle, I had run ins with Crip wannabes, no sweat. I see the tied tennis shoes thrown over telephone wires to mark territory, and "tagging" on fences and walls.

Do you notice real "gangs", or just profile kids that fit the media stereotype? Any gang related violence in your area? :D

In my country the main gangs that i have heard of are in Sydney, Melborne, and Perth and are Asian gangs. And from what i have heard on the news and from people who live in these cities the main crime is gang raping young anglosaxen women (however you spell it).
I think these gangs should be hunted down and slaughtered like pigs, they dont belong in our country.

I agree, the minute they start intimidating a neighborhood, either the cops shut them down, or the citizens should. We should make it such a hostile environment for them, that they either live like filth, or don't live at all. We wouldn't be talking about this if law enforcement would do their fucking job, instead of harrassing easy pickings like honest citizens!
They know who is dealing drugs, doing drivebys. Must be revenue and job security for them! :D

Up here in central Minnesota we've got a few real gangs. Mostly they are hoods from Chicago who move up here to sell drugs because crack goes for 2-3 times as much as it does in Chicago. There are a few local gang bangers but they aren't very harmful because they prefer doing their shit to property. In the last 3 years we have had 3 drive by shootings and the ones who are caught and the victims are from Chicago. Good thing though is that the police up here enforce anti-gang laws and constantly coordinate with the MN Anti-gang taskforce to bust up crack houses and drug rings so it hasn't gotten completely out of hand yet.

I once hung out with a group of rabid circuit boys.

They too were into dealings with the drugs and the gang banging.

Denver has gang activity. It seems the violence has decreased or the media is not reporting the incidents as it did in past years. There is way too much money to be made selling drugs and stealing for the gang members to get a job at Home Depot.

We have mostly Shriners around here. Sometimes they wage war on the Boy Scouts...

I think so. ya have to remember a lot of people carry around here and a gang of any kind giving someone trouble attracts a lot of attension.(weg)

we have a bi-city task force, bit we don't here much out of them.

Picture a gang confronting one or more real bad assed rednecks armed with god knows what and than one of the gang members put his hand into his pocket or reaches behing his back. Yep, time to recruit some more.

Our gangs are all on motorcycles.
Yeah! I got this biker gang member living right next to me. He always has this rebel without a cause attitude, he is always revving up his loud and poorly running Harley (I can smell the unburnt fuel 30 feet away), he has the gang tatoos and ear-ring, the "colors", the bandana on his bike and head, and he is always having run ins with cops. If he didn't owe me so much money I would have the cops come and raid his place and run him out of town! :D

Here is his picture - I took it for the cops and the FBI. I just know this guy is doing something illegal over in his house.

We dont get the sort of gangs that are mentioned above in S.wales, u.k. we just get crowds of kids 16-22 who hang around in various parks and terrorise littler ones.

when i was growing up there was a group of such people who hung around down the rec (recreation park) and because we were long haired moshers they didnt like us. so whenever we passed them in the street or in a park. we would get agro.

one such case was we were walking down a residential road and they pulled up in their car (they were just cruising looking for trouble) and got out a nd proceedied in holding us 3 back and repeatedly punching us in the stomach. luckily a resident managed to stop what was happening. we ran away onto another road where they followed us and grabbed us and took us over a patch of wasteland and proceeded in headbutting us all. we had this sort of grief for the best part of 3 years. i now see a couple of these people in the street and see what ruffians they have turned into.

Being near Detroit you would think that there would be tons of them but you just do not see them anymore ..Ten years ago hearing gun shots was nothing they were so frequant you got to the point of ignoring them ..Now things are quite and my kids can play outside again ..I think alot of kids realize that gangs are no good for anyone ..I am an ex gang member myself but the gangs from my days were a little different than todays gangs ..Hehehe we wanted to be the Warriors not the crips..Our fist settled our fights not guns those were for the weak back in the day but kids today have no respect so it is easy to solve something with a gun..Shutting up now:)

For some reason the word Gang conjures up images of Grand Master Flash and the furious five for me. I guess I really am getting old, and too suburban for my own good.

Could be worse it could conjure images of Michael Jackson videos, or West Side Story....damn, now that's in my head.

....Get Cool Boy!!!!!

Another surveillance photo taken today. That is Lost Cause lurking in the shadows under the tree, supposedly looking out over the bay, but I suspect he was really waiting to make contact with one of his gang members - probably the one that owns the other red bike next to the Harley. ;) I don't know if red bikes are a requirement of being in the gang, or if that is just coincidence.

I don't know of any here where I am but that's not to say that there aren't any.
However, I knew of alot of them when I was back home in the Big Easy.

Dude,

I guarantee you there a dirty meth lab on the other side of the wall holding up your cardboard box.

Read it again, babe. I said that it's not to say that there are none. I'm just not familiar with any in this part of Cali. At least not yet.
