What do you have and would you recommend it/them to others?

I have:

Disney+ - I get it free through Verizon Wireless; I would not recommend it. After you watch all the Marvel and Star Wars movies, there's not much else.

Hulu - I get it free through Verizon Wireless; it's alright. Probably wouldn't buy it on its own.

Amazon Prime - Comes with my Amazon subscription; it's alright, nothing special.

Locast: $5 donation/month; if you're a cord-cutter, but still want the local channels, this one's for you.

Peacock: free; you get what you pay for.

And you?

I have Prime. I get all the Sky movie channels as part of my package from Virgin. For everything else, Pirate Bay.

TPB has been my go-to for years, but, frankly, I'm tired of having to keep up with its URL every time I want to dl something.

Plus, TPB and similar are best when you know what you want to watch. I'd like to be passively introduced to new content for a bit.

I expect I'll be getting CBS: All Access next month so I can watch Star Trek: Discovery in real time.

i also get disney+ free, but i don't think i'm going to renew once the trial runs out for the reasons already stated. also, they can fuck right off with that mulan cash grab. i didn't bite, but it's still insulting.

and hulu is alright and so is hbomax, but warner can fuck off with that hbomax not working on roku bullshit. i had to buy a chromecast for that shit and, man, the hbomax phone app is just kinda shit. still, they have in bruges for the moment and that's neat.

and i cancelled netflix until stranger things comes out again because most of the new shit just isn't for me and i'm sick of them cancelling everything i like.

Free Apple tv
Netflix

In the process of trying to figure out exactly what I want. It's complicated. Because I want mainly US content, vs some Canadian, vs the mandatory French stuff that they make you get.

Which pisses me off and makes me want to cancel the whole damn thing.

Ditto.

So, I dl'ed it off of TPB. Haven't watched it yet, however.

Zut alors!

I have been told that Netflix is less shitty here.

After researching, I am pretty much stuck with what I got. Here you get a package bundle.
Internet (which is good, no complaints)
Land line phone (needed because I call the States. Canada cell packages do not offer free US calling)
Cable (Sucks. Half are in French, so they don't get watched. Some Canadian. Then comes the add on: US network tv, sports, US news, your specialty channels etc it all adds up $$$)

Thought about getting rid of the landline, purchase a US cell plan.
Cancel the cable and just stream.

US cell plan, streaming and then an internet provider, would probably cost more in the long run.
Such a dilemma. I know.

  • NAS server for the torrents
  • HD antenna for the locals
  • Peacock (free) which I really like especially now that the new Stephen King series 'Mr. Mercedes' from the Bill Hodges stories will be there,
  • Amazon Prime Video. I really like this service and they are revamping the GUI (thank fuck). Lots of HD/4K/UHD content.
  • Whatever free trial is happening at the time.

i have the following

netflix
disney +
hulu
shudder
prime
tubi
peacock
youtube
and i have Dish for watching murder porn and cartoons

once amazon and hbo make up, i will get hbomax

star trek discovery has started showing weekly on the regular cbs channel

you can watch most of hbomax on hulu if you sign up through them, but you lose the extras like the criterion collection stuff and friends (if that matters to you). it's fucking stupid.

That's insane if you're paying for all of those services.

tubi is free. i use it as well. it has a fair amount of rifftrax/mst3k stuff and a lot of shitty movies. some are the fun kind of shitty while others are just shitty.

Our local cable company is a fucking turd. We don't have many options otherwise. The only reason I had cable (TV) was for the college footballs season. My stupid cable internet provider has blacked out anything on the sports apps. I recently bought the Hulu +live TV and It seems to be a viable option. Plus, it's $40 a month cheaper. We still pay a ridiculous price for the internet. However, it's fast and reliable, unlike the satellite internet I had living in the country. That shit is a rip off. I would of been a perfect candidate for the new SpaceX Starlink constellation. I hope it pans out for the forgotten rural America.

I have the usual too, Netflix, Prime, blah blah blah..
