Hi All -
My first post here, so please be gentle :)

I'm interested in contributing some stories to the board, but I've never been a member of a writers' forum before (I mostly write stuff for my own amusement). My goal on here is to get some feedback on what I write from people that know what they're talking about, to help me improve my style.

My first question is 'what house rules are there for story themes that can be posted on here?' I tend towards kinkier topics, and I know these can be offensive to some. I'm guessing there must be a FAQ or sticky covering this somewhere here, which I can't find :(. Could some kindly soul just point me in its direction so that I don't need to bug everyone with questions that have probably been asked a thousand times?

Ta so much ;) x

See the FAQ link here: http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=118117 and also http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=175666

The main no-nos are stories involving bestiality, depiction of under-18s in sexual situations, or "extreme" content as defined here. You can mention that a character had under-age sex, e.g. as part of their backstory, but you can't give graphic detail.

First, you wont get helpful feedback at LIT. Mostly youll get ambushed with anonymous insults, youll get a few people pulling your leg and blowing smoke up your ass, and youll get a smattering of envious barbs from other writers. Informed honesty hardly exists at LIT.

Nagaviper, don't be too discouraged by JBJ. He's really just a grump with a heart of gold. Some of what he says is quite perspicacious; but some of it is just a wind up. And don't feel bad about bugging everyone with questions; they'll either answer or they won't. Good luck.

Ha! When has anyone at McLIT ever got useful feedback?

The flip-side of it is, when has any writer accepted feedback?

Feedback around here takes 3 forms: I LOVED IT! HATED IT! and USE MORE ACTION VERBS AND FEWER ADVERBS/ADJECTIVES. Form #3 gets you plenty of insults. DONT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE TROLL! HE'S NEVER GOT ONE PULITZER!

:D Yeah, but most internet forums are a bit like that, no?

I'll take what I can get - even envious barbs can be useful sometimes

Looking forward to posting
