I know the idea of 'thread for a thread' has been batted around, but what about story collaborations? I'd like to get into some stories but sometimes there are so many different threads it's like several stories in one. I was wondering if people keep track of story threads and have brief descriptions about where the story leads so that I can get an idea of which threads in the story interest me and that I'd be willing to add on.

Artican: I thought you had a good idea. It's hard to jump into a new story sometimes, especially a magnum opus such as Ooohkitty's A day at the Stone Wall Mall. I'd go ahead and follow up on your post and Torg's suggestion for a new thread.

Here are my Chyoo 2 stories, with extra links for plot jumping-off points. Sometimes one way to get a sense of Chyoo stories is to first read the summary page, then scan the story map to see where things go.

Get Me to the Church On Time
Bride, mom, and mother-in-law play with old flames while a practical joker stalks the wedding.

So far, the "practical joker"/"phantom revenger" aspect of the plot has seen some hinting but little development. I had the notion that this element would bring the bride's and groom's mothers together against a common foe, since they're introduced as barely tolerating each other, as well as provide a context for some comic action scenes.

There's a separate jumping-off thread from the intro for each of the main female characters, with an alternate path for exploring the point of view of one of the minor characters such as an old college friend or the sisters who are catering the wedding.

The bride wakes from an anxious dream the day before the wedding. SparkyMan's Shopping for last minute details points her towards a special evening planned by her swinging college friends who are staying with her.

The mother of the bride picks things up on the wedding morning in the redwood bath house of her commune, where the bride and groom have stayed over after their house was flooded. Steamy scenes ensue, though at last report they're all hurrying toward the church.

The mother of the groom is an ambitious social climber who runs a successful talent agency. Her story starts around noon the day before the wedding with her leaving a casual lover and running round to deal with last-minute wedding plans, since she couldn't trust the bride's family to hold up her standards and decided to manage the wedding herself. Complications may include an aphrodisiac-laced wedding cake.

In From The Snow
An interracial couple rescues travelers on a snowbound pass.

The story starts with Keith, a tall, handsome black man, and his wife Ginny, a petite green-eyed natural blonde, being interrupted seconds from mutual orgasm by a radio call to go out onto the snowy highway and rescue stranded travelers. Each different "rescue" is its own story or set of stories. A theme that runs through some of them is "Cave Springs", a hot spring resort within a day's drive that turns into a sex resort during the quieter winter season.
Rescued travelers include Daciasdesire's a black lady unconscious needing skin-to-skin treatment for hypothermia, a Land Rover full of female real estate agents wanting to play drinking games, a couple from India meeting their friend Ashok at Cave Springs, and Jakelyon's foolish college girls eager to tease Keith as they dry their cold, wet clothes.

Office Morale
Home office investigates sexy morale-boosting plan

A romp through a "site visit" by a corporate junior executive investigating a branch office's morale and productivity boosting plan involving sex breaks in the workplace. Rick Hart, the junior exec, had a fling with the branch office head Helen Giles during a difficult past time for both of them. Most of the threads are Rick meeting people and "trying out" Helen's morale plan. Scene shifts/plot links include:
Rick and Helen arrive at the "break room" to see the policy in action.
Rick is shocked to see the first demonstration of Helen's policy (by lostandfound). Will his sense of propriety hold out against a determined assault by a branch manager who's more than hitting her numbers and her more-than-loyal staff?
Saleswomen Annabel, Kacey, and Kimberly are caught having unsafe sex in the shower after break (by AaronWebster). Safety specialist Aurora Mishkin recruits them for a special job to avoid losing their sex break privileges.

When The Cat's Away
Parents' sex cruise lets college kids play until their surprise early return.

The two introductory threads set up a particular point in time in the story when Hank and Veevee Menard are flying back early from their interrupted vacation cruise while their son Gary and daughter Lil are thinking they still have a week to have fun without mom and dad looking over their shoulders. From there, the options are to flash back to Hank and Veevee's cruise, to follow Gary and/or Lil at home while their parents are away, or to continue forward to Hank and Veevee walking in on Gary and/or Lil doing something they shouldn't.

Some notable threads:
Gary says yes of course to cheating on his girlfriend with Colleen, who had just come over to apologize to his sister Lil for letting Lil's boyfriend Steve cheat on Lil with Colleen. The author, backnumber, follows up with an interesting and tangled-up plot involving Gary, Colleen, Gary's sister Lil and girlfriend Bernie, and a jazz-playing teacher named Jim Hawkins whom Colleen can't decide whether to throw herself at or give the cold shoulder to.

Gary heads off to make a guilty phone call is the jumping-off place for the temptations of Gary by Laura, the girlfriend who might have been, by sexy housewife Sonia Rubin who treats him as her boy-toy, by his girlfriend's mother Joyce, by Colleen coming to apologize to Lil, or by various people who catch him snoozing at the beach at the wheel of a borrowed custom surf van.

While Gary faces temptation, Gary's sister Lil and girlfriend Bernie go shopping. No matter which way they turn, the signs seem to point to some sort of lesbian intrigue, either with the lingerie store clerks, with Bernie's lesbian former lovers, with a local TV news anchor, or each other.

Other twists include Hank and Veevee returning to find Gary having sex with his sister Lil to console her for her bad breakup with Steve (by TwistidClown). What can they do to keep some sort of order in the household? Can naughty-minded Veevee maintain her self-control when faced with a situation out of her own fantasies?

The introduction claims that Lil has just had a loud, satisfying orgasm at the hands and tongue of Alison ("She's perfect for a girl on the outs with guys." says Bernie). While the "Gary and Lil at home" flashback threads haven't caught up to Alison, there's a thread starting from Alison's point of view starting with her dropping her latest female fling off at the airport to join her husband-to-be on vacation, and maybe getting a phone call from Bernie Bernstein about Lil.

Hank and Veevee's cruise might go a number of directions after starting with Hank looking for his wife, who has slipped away while he watches the departure. In one option, it quickly gets sexy when Veevee leaves a note inviting Hank to join her in their swinging friends' cabin. Hank quietly slips in to find her on her knees in front of a young man he doesn't immediately recognize. Threads in other parts of the story hint about possibilities for the cruise which haven't yet been developed: Hank and Veevee might meet Lil's favorite singer Billy Royce performing on the cruise, they might hook up with an enthusiastic young couple like the ones they see on the plane, and there's some sort of accident that ends the cruise early.

And then there's always Hank and Veevee renewing their membership in the Mile High Club on their way home with a little help from a young couple with the same plan, or Veevee tiptoeing into an airport restroom after midnight to listen to a flight attendant and a passenger jilling off side by side, which might lengthen their journey home.

Lawn Boy
There are two main threads in this story: what happens at the Morris house when Chuck goes to mow and the lawn mowing competition between Chuck and his neighbor. This last thread just started (by the_high_king) and the stakes are looking hot.

The first thread has two sub threads: one with Sandy Morris, the 19-yo daughter, and one with Judy, the 18-yo daughter. Judy's thread just started (by JaqFarlane) and I'm interested to see where it goes. I've taken the first thread through to the end of mowing the Morris lawn. There are plenty of available offshoots to exploit.

His Son's Friends
This story doesn't really have much in the way of alternatives, except for what one girl does with Jack's erection. This main thread has been taken through the conclusion of all three girls, but there is lots of room for more directions for this to go.

Jamaican Resort
This story has several main threads: (1) white male (25) takes a vacation, (2) guy with girlfriend (19) take a vacation, (3) recent divorcee (26) lets loose, coed (19) and roommate she secretly has a crush on arrive on spring break, plus a tour guide, a swinging couple, and a rich and frustrated developer going through a midlife crisis.

Each of these has various twists and turns, plus lots of jumping off points along the way.

The Mailroom Guy
This story has several threads, but they haven't gone very far: he gets a new boss temporarily and is she a bitch, he runs into the receptionist in the supply room, he delivers a package to three beautiful secretaries, and he gets a new assistant who wants assistance.

I feel responsible for two more stories that I've been made sub-editor of while the original authors have left. I'm the main contributor for both.

One is School of Love (by pussy_lover), which follows a high-school student's escapades one day at school with two lovely members of the student body. I kind of took over the main thread, which presents the main character with two options: the very sex-driven girl and the girl you have a crush on. Do you go for the girl who you know will put out or the girl you might fall in love with? I'm still developing this.

The other story is Sex With Consequences (by brevdravis), which follows a guy leaving on a big vacation. The central theme of this story is that all the sex should be unprotected sex with the risks involved. There are several threads, including going to Hawaii alone or with a buddle, staying to work the weekend for your ballbusting boss, or going to a Sci-Fi/gaming/comic convention. Both of the Hawaii threads get some distance into the story.

Please feel free to add to these stories as well.

I'd personally really like to see this thread analysis of some of the mega-stories, like Aaralon's Discoveries, The Choices We Make, Quiet Streets, A boy at a girls school, and A Highschool Fantasy. I know that this is a pretty time-intensive project, so I don't expect this to happen soon, but I still want them.

One other story I've made a major contribution to is The Super. It follows the exploits of the new super in the M.I.L.F. Apartments and his interactions with the tenants. My thread has him 'introduce' himself to several tenants and such in the building. The other thread has him going to 4B to fix a clogged sink.

I'd personally really like to see this thread analysis of some of the mega-stories, like Aaralon's Discoveries

This is how I tend to chunk Aaralon's Discoveries, perhaps with a bit of undue emphasis on the threads that I'm presently working on.


Aaralon's Discoveries
The story centers around Aaralon, an up-and-coming wizard trainee at the magic academy who has just taken up the unfortunate hobby of forbidden demon summoning.

Aaralon initially summons a Tar'oth, a tiny imp demon, in his attic hideaway. There are quite a few short dead-end threads that involve a brief power stuggle and then the demon doing all manner of things to the dull-witted versions of Aaralon who fall prey to her tricks.

A pair of longer offshoot threads involve Aaralon falling under the imp's power and being forced to do tasks at her bidding, and end in his demise or transformation.

One bridge thread involves Aaralon summoning a Nightmare demon to manipulate the dreams of a pair of girls.

In another set of bridge threads, Aaralon takes control of the situation with the imp and makes use of the imp to do voyueristic things such as spying on female students in the bathhouse and a princess sucking off a satyr. This particular thread is also the launching platform for the next two major sections.

The longest running thread by post-count involves Aaralon learning that a mission is about to be undertaken by several instructors to rescue the daughter of a nearby town mayor from gnoll kidnappers. Aaralon opts to join in the rescue. During the journey, the party becomes increasingly divided up as they track the gnolls and deal with things such as plant-women and midnight mystery blowjobs. The thread is some 33 posts deep, and as of yet, the party has glimpsed neither tooth nor nail of the poor mayor's daughter.

A thread that's currently growing twin to the longest thread described above involves Aaralon learning of the pair of royal princesses who have vanished into the mines beneath the palace. Aaralon travels with the first year magic students to rescue the princesses and has a run-in with a corrupt instructor, undertakes the rigorous journey to the palace by ship, encounters pirates, and will likely also involve trolls, and more demons in the near future.

Other interesting but isolated offshoot threads include Aaralon summoning a pair of flesh hounds to rape students of the academy, Aaralon becoming a slave to a twisted instructor, Aaralon wandering in the tower of the grand magus, and encounters between Aaralon's classmates and a unicorn.


As far as analysis goes, without being too judgemental, the quality varies greatly between author to author. The core of the story is very well done by Sixth, and there have been many great additions by other authors. There have also been a handful of not-so-great additions by authors who are struggling with some basic issues like pov, and tense. Not to insinuate too much negativity because Aaralon's Discoveries is, after all, my favorite entry on chyoo.

2)A meeting for new students
This is the most developed part of the story. Most of the threads were written by gystex and it has some of the best characters.
Your best friend {LAST_NAME} - A girl from your home town who was your best friend when growing up
Miss Stoller - A strict teacher who "would be very attractive indeed if she didn't try so hard not to be"
Phoebe - "Attractive and popular bitch" who is eager to get to know you better

3)Try to find {LAST_NAME}
This section has more of a fantasy element to it. It involves the school rules and sex education you could only wish for. The action revolves around the swimming pool to start with. Later the action moves to the showers and sex education classes.

The Sex Game
A group of friends get together and play a naughty game.

A cruise ship holiday for singles
You are one of 100 single guys and 100 single girls together on a cruise ship holiday.

The families from northern Gaza make up only a small fraction of the 1,600 families slated for evacuation this summer. But Saturday's announcement is the latest sign that Jewish settlers are coming to terms with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's decision to evacuate the Gaza Strip and four West Bank settlements.

At least 500 families have already reached agreement with the government on compensation and relocation, but none have officially announced when they will move.

Many Jewish settlers have vowed to resist the evacuation to the end. Dozens have holed up in a Gaza Strip hotel, stocking up on food and water in expectation of a fierce battle _ which they say will be nonviolent _ with Israeli security forces who come to remove them.

David Saadon, the settler who represented the 40 families in their talks with the government, said they decided to move out of their homes in the settlements of Elei Sinai, Dugit and Nissanit in July because they do not want to witness a harsh forced evacuation.

"The move is already difficult," Saadon told The Associated Press. "I don't think there will be physical confrontation, but there will be resistance and I don't want my children to see this."

Most of the 40 families Saadon represents will be moving to temporary homes in Or Haner, a kibbutz _ or communal farm _ in southern Israel. They will live on the kibbutz until they complete construction of their homes in the nearby community of Beit Hadar, Saadon added.

After they move, the army will seal the homes to prevent the takeover of the structures by people who want to resist the evacuation. Later, the homes will be demolished by Israel, and the Palestinians will remove the rubble, in one sign the sides are trying to coordinate the complex withdrawal.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas insisted Saturday he would not allow looters to rampage the settlements after the Israeli withdrawal.

"We want this to be quiet and clean," Abbas said. "We are preparing ourselves to be ready ... to take control of these settlements and to preserve the properties because it is property the Palestinian people can use."

Meanwhile, Israeli troops evacuated two army positions in the West Bank city of Hebron, including one in a Palestinian elementary school, the army said Saturday.

About 2,000 Palestinian students had been forced to transfer schools in 2002 after troops took over the educational complex to establish an army post, said Mohammed Qawasme, the director of the Education Department in Hebron. Troops damaged the school buildings and it will take a year to reopen the facility, he added.

The army evacuated a second position in Hebron on Saturday, setting up a smaller observation post closer to the Jewish settlement in the city.

The withdrawals were part of a broader troop redeployment around the Jewish settlement in Hebron, the army said. The troop redeployment will allow Palestinians greater freedom of movement and ease restrictions for the general population, the army said, noting that the school is in a neighborhood that has a strong Hamas presence.

The Jewish settlement in the city of Hebron is a small enclave of some 400 hard-line Jews who live in the midst of more than 160,000 Palestinians. Friction and clashes between the settlers and the Palestinians is common.

I thought it was time to freshen this thread up, especially since I have a new story since my previous "me and my stories" post.

New(er) story:

Port Call

Wooden ships and men with iron in their breeches.

Setting is a tropical port somewhere in the 1500s-1700s as they never were. Think 'Treasure Island'. Develop the characters and motivate their actions. Each of the jumping off threads from the introduction follows a particular character.

Young sailor Nils, on his first foreign port call, is eager to gain experience of drinking, maybe brawling, and certainly of women. Will he wander off by himself or stay more safely with his shipmates?

Captain Emily Flint, strict to her crew, yet quietly randy behind closed doors, has her own secret business on this port call.

Steersman Selim has returned to his home port, and he brings young Nils to meet his two wives, who have been eagerly waiting his return, with an eye toward taking care of Nils' little virginity problem.

Experienced sailor Thor is just looking for a bit of fun.

Also, I linked thru "Mailroom Guy" using the boldface title before its summary in this thread, & the Intro was "Locked", & the story map seemed to have serious problems.

I've seen that happen in a story where the "minimum threads" was set (which appears to mean that outside contributors can add options, but not add the first new thread branching from an old one). In this case I've worked around the issue by gluing together the "add new thread" URL in order to add a thread, and Chyoo (and the author) were OK with that.

Also, I linked thru "Mailroom Guy" using the boldface title before its summary in this thread, & the Intro was "Locked", & the story map seemed to have serious problems.

I looked up "The Mailroom Guy" under Torg's profile and got it as story #3577, while the bold link above (and Torg's current signature) have it as story #2541 (which appears to have disappeared).
