Story submissions take forever to approve

My first one took around four or five days, but considering it's length, I hardly find that surprising.

There are a lot of submissions coming in daily, you'll know when your story is coming up for review by checking your submissions page and looking for views on the submitted story. Once the views start coming in, you'll be getting close to a yay or nay. It's probably just a heavier than normal load of submissions, or a lighter than normal amount of staff time to review them. Happens to everyone, so nothing to worry about I'm sure.

Just have to be patient

Hi,
I am pleased on how quickly they are approved. Occasionally they are rejected, but that is only for your own benefit. Once you fix the mistakes, they are soon approved. Im known for my impatience, but we must realise they have many stories to look at. This is a wonderful site and my favourate.

The speed comes and goes.... it is nothing personal and I would advise authors to simply submit the stories and then don't look for them to be up for about a week or so. :)

For an all volunteer organization, with the amount of material coming in, and the reformatting sometimes required, I've been pleased. My first story took 7 days to approve, but it's still a TON faster than any place I've submitted elsewhere -- which can take up to 6 months just to get a form letter rejection (in email!).

Knowing all that doesn't make the waiting any easier

Taking forever

I've noticed with my story submissions I average around a week or so. Once it was quick at 3 or 4 days and one time I think a story took two weeks. I think the way the story is submitted probably has something to do with the turn around time. When I first started submitting stories I'd attach it as a word doc and that always seemed to take a while but once I started to cut and paste into the submission box it seems faster. I'd take elizabetht's advice and just submit it and sit on it for about a week or so.
