Hello Team,
I submitted a story and it was pending review over 3 weeks. I thought it got stuck so i deleted and re-submitted it again on 21st of Sep, but i fear it is going nowhere. Can you check if there is a tech issue or the backlog pending review is too big? The tittle of the story is "A Night at lake Serenity". First title was "Wicked games in the wood" , but i changed it in the second submission atempt

Resubmitting puts you at the back of the line again.

Nobody who reads this forum regularly can check anything. We're fellow users of Literotica. If you want to ask for an "unsticking" in a couple of weeks (since you just restarted the clock) you can use the envelope icon up above these messages to start a conversation with Laurel ("Kitty Mama"), who is the editor. She never answers, but she does seemingly check if you tell her about a problem.

Is it published now, or still pending?

Sadly its still pending.I tried to reach out on a few ocassions ,but didnt get any reply. Its really demoralizing to write monologes so i decided to give it a rest

Okay my suggestion is, Delete the story completely, resubmit as a New Story and add a Note to Admin saying "This was stuck in Pending from (date) t (date). I deleted and and submitting as a New Story."

Try that - sometimes deleting completely and doing the New Story submission seems to work as most stories still zeem to be going thru okay

I did and the response was to re-submit the story. I already resubmitted once and i hear it will just keep the story in a loop. I think best course of action is to simply wait.

PENDING STORIES AND AI REJECTION ISSUES - WHAT TO DO

AS well as the Pending Stories issues, any number of authors have had their stories rejected for alleged AI usage. WHatever Literotica is using to detect AI usage seems to be returning a lot of false positives and nobody has found any real solution to this.

Literotica has not been at all communicative on either of these issues - personally, I wonder to what extent Laurel and Manu are aware that these ARE major issues that are driving authors away to other sites.

My take on it is that while authors are not using AI, the use of tools such as Grammarly maybe be driving this - these tools all follow the same rules and recommend the same stylistic and grammatical changes which to a reader is quite noticeable. I dropped using these tools because of that -

I'd recommend three things
(1) Everyone who hits this issue Use the feedback option in your control panel
(2) Everyone who hits this issue Open a Bug Ticket
(3) EVERYONE who hits this false positive AI problem PM Laurel using a standard header - "Story Rejected due to false positive on AI Usage" or "Story has been in Pending for x days/weeks"

- a high volume of Feedback, Bug Reports and PM's all reporting the same issue will shine more light on the issue(s)
- I suspect part of the problem is a lack of awareness of the impact this is having (both the AI Rejections and the current issue with Pending Stories going into a Black Hole
- Complaining on the forums doesn'r achieve anything - the threads disappear quickly and I doubt Laurel or Manu browse the forums looking for issues
- In his last few posts Manu has highlighted using the Feedback form to report issues so I would suggest doing this for EVERY SINGLE OCCURENCE of these issues. THAT will get attention and ensure awareness of the impact

To do this go to your Control Panel, go to Help and select "New Feedback"
- I'd recommend using the same Feedback Subject - "Story Rejected due to false positive on AI Usage" and "Story has been in Pending for x days/weeks"
- For Feedback Tags, I'd suggest standardizing on "Critical System Failure" - both this issues are completely blocking authors from successfully submittimg their stories
- For Feedback Category - "Publishing YOur Work" is the obvious one
- For subcategory, "Story Submission" is the obvious one

AGAIN, I SUGGEST EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HITS THESE ISSUES SUBMIT FEEDBACK - this seems to be the Site's preferred option

Do this AND submit a Bug Report - link here: https://www.literotica.com/stories/quest/bugs.php?id=3

I have resubmitted after 10 days and am now on day 38 since doing that. I have sent weekly messages to Laurel asking what is going on to no avail. I have sent emails to Literotica support about the issue. I have entered a support ticket that I send update/follow ups to weekly.

There is no response.

I don't think any of us giving advice really know what's going on and we don't know if that advice is valid or not. The real problem continues to be that the admins need to communicate if there is a bug or an issue, which they have not for a couple of months now. I am starting to wonder if they have abandoned the site.

I tried all the listed actions and nothing came out of it.This is just absurd. At least it should not be stated the review takes around 3 days when in reallity its far beyond that.

The thing is, time to publication is very, very variable. My last story got reviewed within about 3 hours.

OK, it was sent back, but it was reviewed. (Approved when I resubmitted with an explanation.)

I decided to add a note to the administrator to see if that works. My non erotic story has gone thru the following

1. Initial submission. Stayed in pending queue for 3 weeks
2. Deleted story. Submitted story as new with a different title. Stayed in pending queue for 2 weeks
3. Deleted story today. Submitted story as new, same title. Added note to.administrator with polite message.

New chapter been pending since October 29th. Disappointing and loosing momentum and interest to keep going.
Applied to be in the Story Series Beta version July 27th and still "in progress".
After awhile I just feel like giving up and going back to just being a reader. A lot less frustrating.

I know, it's really frustrating and it is affecting so many people - you are not alone - it's affectimg a lot of people - and there has been NO site updates on the issue whatsoever, to anyone, so we really have no idea what is happening, if the site even recognozes there is a problem - they must - they are getting so many messages and problem reports about this and the false AI rejection issue - but the site is just not telling is what is going on or if it is being worked on, or what to do if this happens. There are pending storis that have been sitting there for over a month, we have no idea if they are even visible to the story mod, and if you are writing and publishing a series and yu get stick, it is, be blunt, a real fuck off. Not communicating about this is telling authors the site doesn't give a fuck about their efforts and it's really frustrating.

In the meantime, if LIT is not processing your story and you want to see it up and in front of reader eyes, mu suggestions is to try either of these two sites and just leave it in pending here and see if they eventually fix the issue.

This has been a big problem for me since October. 114 submissions with no issues, and then 5 "rejections" out of 8. And of the three that were accepted? One was a pointless essay and two stories with deliberate spelling and format errors. Why? Because AI thinks humans have bad spelling and their fellow AI robots don't. I've tried the using Feedback options a number of times and will try again, but it's become very discouraging. I do have 2 new stories going up on 12/8. How? I added spelling errors to fool the AI detector.

In a sad way, it's good to know I'm not in this sinking boat alone. I just opened a Lush accounts a few weeks ago and have posted 3 stories (yes, the process is very slow). One of the stories is an a fairly innocent ENF that Literotica declined to publish.

Thank you so much for the advice. Will definitely check out the other sites.
I posted for awhile at https://archiveofourown.org/ but not much feedback from readers so not as fun as this site use to be. Hopefully more fun over at lush.

I already resubmitted once and i hear it will just keep the story in a loop
Well, that's true if the story is actually in a review queue. For a period of several days, that does seem to be the situation. However, after an unreasonably long time, that's a buggy situation I call "permanently pending."

That's when you DO want to go to the back of the line - because then at least you're in line again. If you don't, then, you basically aren't in line and will never get to the front.

We don't know what causes stories to fall out of the queue, but, it happens, and according to (my interpretation of) a statement from @Literotica last August, if it has been 15 days, at that point you are not in a queue at all and you should not continue to do-nothing.

I interpret it that way because what it actually says is DON'T do anything to the story if it has been less than 15 days, "as that will delay publication." It doesn't say what TO DO if it has been longer than 15 days, but authors have figured out that the delete-and-resubmit protocol usually results in moving through the queue again. Sometimes it takes more than one try.

I've had the same problem with one story, but was able to submit two others. I've resubmitted it again as a smaller two-part story to see what happens. It's also been three weeks and four submissions. I'm finishing two other stories, but hesitant to submit them.

Thanks! Guess I'll resubmit. Guess it can't hurt. Thanks for the advice.

Interesting. Same here, a short story in the queue since November 23. Sending a request via feedback and hoping that the full site refresh in early 2026 solves the issue.

From what I've read in previous threads, this problem (bug) has been going on for years but only has gotten worse in the last few years probably because more writers are submitting work for publication. Story / poems do not generate revenue so it is unlikely that this bug will ever be fixed, perhaps they might put a "band-aid" on their 20 plus year old CMS.

It seems (from reading comments) that if a story / poem remains in the pending queue for over a month it is automatically tagged with a rejected "AI generated" tag and sent back in order to purge the database. I don't expect this bug to be fixed because there is no ROI. YMMV

Edit - human generated 😜

Well the good news would be at least if it is rejected, and there is a reason, at least there is some type of communication going on 🤣🤣🤣
