Story stuck in Pending showing as New

Hello,

Forgive my newness and if this is normal thing that will resolve itself.

I have a story in Pending showing as new with the date 12/08/25. Which I'm assuming means it should have been published on Dec 8th?

I'm not sure what, if anything I can do next or if it'll right itself? I have submitted further stories in the meantime.

But if someone can offer support or guidance, that would be great.

Would you mind screenshotting your pending folder? This is the first time we've heard of something like this, even if it's hardly surprising, considering the recent series of fuckups on Lit.

I recall there was a similar case relatively recently, no more than a couple of months ago. It might even have been during one of the contests (Summer Lovin?), as there were some complaints about event stories not getting published correctly, but I vaguely remember unrelated, singular cases as well.

Getting in touch with Laurel helped there, so I echo the recommendation that OP does the same.

Thank you. I've got another story Coin Pt.01, which is the one on Dec 8, that is showing as new but still in pending.

Thank you for pointing that out to me. But that wasn't the question - It was that my story was in pending with 'New' next to it with a date from a few days ago, which I thought meant it would be published.

I am new here and still figuring things out.

If there are people here without stories published longer than that, then of course they take priority, but, again, that wasn't my question.

Please don't take anything I've asked as being deliberately intended to offend. If I've accidentally said something, then, for that, I apologise.

It’s a bug. Your only potential remedy is the one suggested above, which might not work.

And there was nothing in the least offensive about the question. This can be a weird place sometimes often.

Glad to see you found your way over here. But don't worry about fitting in: many of us are too awkward to be allowed outside in normal company. Reply to any thread that catches your interest, try to be positive and throw out a pun wherever possible. That's really all it takes.
