I have been trying to locate a story that I read a while ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember the title or the author.
About all that I remember is that the hero was in a country fair "jail", and a little kid kept buying tickets to keep him there.
It turns out his wife is cheating and she and/or the lover were giving the kid the money, so that they could fool around.
