Hi all, just registered, but I have been lurking for quite some time. lol. I love the erotic stories, and I really don't mean to offend anyone with this post at all. It's just that I keep seeing so much bad grammar and spelling. The stories are still quite hot. What I am offering here are my services as a proofreader. I am not an English Major, but I read a lot and I think that I could be of some help. I think it would be enjoyable to help the writers make their stories even better. Do I write erotica? No. So I am not even going to attempt to tell a writer what to do. But I could help. Please let me know if I can help. Once again, this is definitely not an attempt at slamming any of the writers.

Here is the information you are requesting about editing.

Be An Editor

* The Literotica Editor's program exists to help writers improve their writing. It is against the rules to use this service to advertise services or products. Doing so is grounds for removal from the site. Also, this system is for the benefit of Literotica authors only. Do not use it to proofread stories that are not for Literotica. *

Here's how to get started:

- Please read our Submission Guidelines and keep these in mind when editing any piece, as submissions that don't follow our guidelines will be rejected. Also, feel free to skim our Writer's Resources and direct authors to any of the articles if you think they need extra help in specific areas.

- Once you've read the Guidelines, please fill out the form below. Your profile should be approved and made public within 24 hours.

- Authors will contact you via a form on Literotica requesting that you edit their story. The author's request will be emailed to the address in your Literotica profile, so please make sure it's an email address you check frequently.

- You should respond to the author within 72 hours. You may wish to view the author's submissions and see 1) if they've ever used an editor before, and 2) what comments they may have made on previous editors. If you accept the editing job, have them email you the story in the format you prefer.

- Once the story is sent to you, make the necessary edits and return it to the author via email within the agreed-upon time frame.

- The author will then submit the story to Literotica, noting that you were the editor and rating the experience as a positive, negative, or neutral one. Once their story is posted, you will receive an editing credit on the story itself, and their rating along with any comments they have will appear in your profile. You may comment on their comments.

As an Editor, you are under no obligation to take on every story editing request you receive. However, we ask that you respond to emails from writers in a timely manner (within 72 hours), even if only to tell them that you currently cannot edit their piece because of your current schedule, number of editing projects already on your plate, the nature of the editing job, etc.

Remember that this is a volunteer position, and if any editing project seems to work-intensive for you, or is not to your liking, you have the right to politely refuse to edit it. Also, you have the option of removing yourself from the program temporarily or permanently under the Edit Profile link to your left.

We've created a forum on our Bulletin Board specifically for our Volunteer Editors, readers, and writers to share information regarding the editing process. Feel free to ask any questions in this forum, and to give advice and provide comments to other editors as well.

Since this is a new process, we can all benefit from sharing our knowledge and experiences! We really, really appreciate all of your help.. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please email us! Thanks again!

I'm not sure how well the volunteer editor part of Literotica is working. I think your best bet would be to go over to the Editor's Board and post a notice over there offering your services. People often go there looking for editors and proof-readers, and God knows we could use someone with your talents.

Welcome to Lit!
