Story Plagiarized... Weirdly

I discovered the series I'm working plagiarized by a poster on the bulletin board of an Asian sex chat site. I'm not sure where it's hosted, but the poster is supposedly in Korea. The site's in English.

All the chapters of my ongoing series are posted in comments on the bulletin board by one poster. The text is randomly interspersed with provocative photos of the same model, who I assume to be the poster. Any idea what that's about? As in, what is the point?

It is all about adding content, any content, to a new website to make it look larger than it is.

Many of my stories have ended up on Japanese and Korean sites - do NOT open those sites - they are usually full of malware. Only the first page of a multi-page story has been stolen and often my story has no relevance to the purported purpose of the site. For example - why take page 1 of a multipage mature romance story of mine for a site labelled as being about Japanese anal-fisting teenagers?

This wasn't a new website. It's a forum, like this one. It's even built on the same out-of-the-box program as this one is. They've got tons of content. This wasn't added by the website owner, but by a poster. The only thing she seems to be promoting is her photos, but I don't know what my story has to do with it. It's not just one page. It's multiple chapters, each around 6 Lit pages long, pasted in multiple posts. I can't figure out what the advantage is to her to do it.

If your name isn't on it, I'd say ego was what she gets out of it.

The poster could be a fake run by the website, either as SEO optimisation (fill your site up with porn content to get hits from people looking for porn) or to make them look more popular than they are a la Ashley Madison.

Or they could be a spammer using your content to get past that site's filters. We've had spammers before who'd copy somebody else's old forum post and post it as new, with a link added.

It's hard to figure out some of these scams. We have some lately who'll reply to a comment thread, with a comment relevant to that thread that seems to be a bona fide reply, and then go back hours later and edit in a spammy link. Unless they've got a really good comment-generating AI, they have to have a human going to the trouble of reading the thread and writing a meaningful comment, all for the sake of adding a link that maybe five people will read and probably nobody will click on. Even assuming the posters are in some sweatshop earning pennies an hour, that doesn't seem like a profitable game. But maybe I've missed something.

I can't figure it out. The chapters are too long for a single post, so they've gone to the trouble of making multiple posts for each chapter. This person's photographs are the only thing I can see being featured. (They have absolutely nothing to do with the story.) I assume they're the point, because I can't figure out why else they'd be there. There are a couple of links at the bottom of the person's posts that look like they're part of the automated signature, but it doesn't seem wise to click on those to find out what they are.

Maybe one problem trying to figure out these scams is that there's no way to account for someone doing it poorly. Try to figure them out tends to be speculation on what would make sense. There's no guarantee that it actually does make sense or actually is profitable.

Truth is stranger than fiction. Humans do not make sense and are illogical. At least this person is not profiting off your work by selling it.
