Story pending since 8/31

I've resubmitted on 9/6 and 9/11. Its just sitting in pending. Whats going on?
The site had a major melt down a couple of days ago - the 9/11 submit might have got caught up in that - but even so, eight days is a long wait. I reckon I'd PM Laurel.

The 31st August is long lost - every time you resubmit you start from the back of the queue.

Resubmitting a story is like throat kicking it.

But I found that even PMs don't accomplish much. I never got a response when doing that.

Did the stories go live within a couple of days of sending the PMs? It makes sense to me that Laurel would process the story, knowing that's effectively the "reply", but not reply directly.

I've sent two PMs to Laurel -- one back in July, the other last week. Both are about stories stuck in pending (not mine, from another author). They didn't receive replies and neither have I. As a new author, they're not impressed with the site so far.

Laurel is extremely busy dealing with all the issues of the site so I expect personal replies are rare. I've sent her a PMs a couple of times about submittal issues. I didn't receive a reply either time but the issue was solved the next day. With the recent site issues, the recent PMS noted may have been lost so follow up as needed.

Literotica has categories.
The categories are to try to ensure readers find what they're looking for and avoid what they're not into.
Because Lit has categories there are general expectations of what you're going to find in a story in each category
Some things can mix without an issue, Lesbian sex in a group sex story is no issue as often the women are bi. Anal can go into most categories as its just a type of sex(and a useless category IMO) but as has been pointed our since long before I ever got here there are trump categories

Incest, Non con and GM.

These aren't just trump in the eyes of writers/readers, but Laurel will often put a story in those categories if she sees the content regardless of what the reader chose.

This story has obvious non con elements, at least for the first part of the story, hence why everyone is saying non con.

The only people arguing are the people who either through ignorance or desire think Non con is part of BDSM, if its ignorance, they should try and listen to people who know what they're talking about, if its desire its because they apparently think raping someone is okay, and consent is never needed in any aspect of sex.

Another words, if you're arguing this point you're either obtuse or can't come to grips with the fact women-and men-should have a say in what they'll allow to be done to them.

So instead of projecting said twisted beliefs onto others and trying to argue, just accept you're real kink is rape stories and leave it at that.

I understand she's busy. A reply isn't needed if the stories in question post . . . or they're rejected. Stuck in pending that long deserves some type of resolution.

I have PM'd laurel maybe half a dozen times since my first alt joined in 2004. A few got responses most didn't. I wish she'd ask site users to help with reviewing stories or helping with issues. Another site has a team of volunteers to approve and reject stories and they are a lot more persnickety than Lit. I often post there first and make the fixes they demand before posting elsewhere.

I Got hold of whoever runs Lit's twitter and the story will post tomorrow.

Thank you. I didn't know about the meltdown. Not in the forums as much as I used to be. I know that resubmitting drops you to the end of the queue, but I also know sometimes stories hang and you need to resubmit, so they go into the queue.

As I said above it is set to go live on the 20th.

Great. The thing to remember is that each time you mess with the submission, the whole transaction goes to the end of the queue again.

Agree that the incomplete communications here is very frustrating--and ends up with other users having to try to help--without having the means to provide anything more than sympathy and advice. Full communications is just good business.

Don't do anything then - a future date is the scheduled go live date.
