Story Length

Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for what the upload limits are for story lengths? New to posting stories have a bunch in rough draft but before I upload anymore would be nice to know what restrictions are if any.

I don't think there any, at least not through any explicit mechanism. Perhaps there is some condition that triggers when you try to upload a single work the length of The Lord of the Rings, but I've seen multiple submissions clocking at over 100k words (well over 20 Lit pages) and they worked just fine.

I am unaware of any upper limits, though others may have discovered those.

I believe 750 words is the minimum.

I think someone said the average lit page is 2.5k words? Personally, 2-3 pages is the sweet spot to read in one sitting

According to TV Tropes, the greatest work of erotic fiction — as in, the biggest and the longest (and probably the hardest and most girthy) — is a tale titled Six Times a Day. You can read it over at AO3, in multiple series spanning many long chapters, and the whole thing apparently clocks at 2 million words.

So if the author ever wants to stress-test Literotica, he could try uploading that

3500ish.

I use 3750 as a guideline. It depends a little on your paragraph lengths, since pages won't be broken in the middle of a paragraph.

Unlimited. I've seen a single story eighty Lit pages long, which is pushing 300,000 words.

3750 is my rule of thumb (based on a million and a half words published here).
