Story games

I have not encountered one, but I assume they are interactive stories with multiple branches available to choose from. Go into forest and choose path A or path B. Then B splits into choosing which weapon to pick up. Etc.

The are challenging to do well. In many other sites they are often incomplete with dead ends.

I have one I wrote for a story called The Queen's Catcher. The story is about a young woman being "caught" and send to the queen's garden as a submissive plaything. The goal of the game is also to get "caught". You win by ending up tied to the queen's bed.

You can play it in a web browser at: https://waxphilosophic.sdf.org/erotica/if/play.html

You type commands, like: go east, or look at table, or take bells to navigate your way around.

For non-tech people, a story game at the minimum is one where you can write "sliding doors" type stories, where the reader can decide on which branch to take, using a menu that pops up at the branch point.

Beware of prolification of branches if you want to complete your story! The typical way to do this is to put "dead ends" in the story:

"You decide not to call her back, and you never see her again. THE END."
