Story Formatting

I have part 1 of my first story ready to submit. However, to keep the italics, I'm wondering what to do. I read that I CAN submit in .doc format, which I wouldn't mind doing, but then there's a delay and someone has to manually go through the story and make the formatting changes to the raw text. I'd hate to put someone out on a 5,000 word scene.

Can I use html or bbc code in the txt instead of submitting it as a .doc?

Thank you, SweetErika. Unfortunately, I was up against a time constraint, and went ahead and submitted the story as a .doc. But at least I'll know for next time.

I have another newb question. How do I find my stories once they've been posted? Do I just have to search for them via the search function and/or an internet search engine (such as google or bing), or is there some sort of author's page or panel that I can use that will list everything?

That is too bad because now your story will take longer to be posted than if you had formatted it yourself.

You can access your stuff by logging in and viewing this page. You can also see where your story is in the process via that page.

Might I suggest taking a breath and having a look around to see what's available to you in terms of resources, how to navigate, etc.? We're happy to help, and I know it's tempting to jump right in and get quick answers, but you'll probably do far better long-term if you take some time to familiarize yourself with how things work.

*lol*

I've always been the sort that jumps right in to the deep end of the pool, and then figures out if he can swim. :D

Thanks for the advice though. :)
