Story edit comparison

When the new story is posted, the title will be "Christie's Homeless Partner." The primary reason for this edit is that the guy is now part of the romantic partnership rather than just a friend. I will say that I was advised against doing this edit, mainly because of the way it'll change here - it won't get its highlight week like a new story would. I'm not even sure if it would qualify for a "New Story Announcement" since it's fundamentally the same, but it's had a few details/scenes switched around to better fit the series it is a part of.

So yeah, thoughts are welcome.
Aside from the fact that you're posting more than three paragraphs (which is the limit for story discussion in this forum), it's not clear if you are submitting an Edit and asking for title to be changed at the same time, or deleting your old story and submitting a new one.

If the former, what's the point of showing the edit? Old readers aren't very likely to come back and see what's changed, and new readers will only see the latest version.

If you're deleting and starting again, readers will only see the latest version by way of a new story, or get confused thinking, wait, I've already read something similar, what's going on here?

It's not clear to me why you've broadcast this change. It's all a bit, who cares (other than you)?
