"Cedar Station had no cedars. Cedar Station had no station."

Still my favorite line. :)

I'm guessing this will be a 10 Part series or so, possibly not including the final confrontation with the authorities. It'll follow the life of Bradley Colson as he takes control and reshapes the town and its residents for his own, mysterious purposes.

Anyone want to make a guess as to what Mr. Colson really is? Even I didn't figure it out until Chapter 6.

Chapter 2 on the way!

Do I need to post a separate thread for it, or will this one suffice for all stories in the Cedar Station series?

Did someone move my thread? Wasn't this originally posted in Story Discussion, not Story Feedback?

I'm pretty sure it was.

Chapter 2 is up!

I made a boo-boo, double-posted in the story text. I sent in an edit but it shouldn't matter.

I really like your writing style. And IMO you should have started with the line in your OP. It jumps right in, giving the reader an instant image of the place (although possibly a little more barren), and, equally importantly, a foresteste of your wry writing style.
Your vocabulary stands out to me too; you avoid obvious words, but don't stray into the abstruse.

Dialog is great too.

I'll read the entire story when it's all there. Impressive so far

Chapter 3 is up.

Is 3k words enough for a single chapter?
Too bad, because average chapter length is only going to be increasing a little as the series progresses. :p

The recommended stories are getting better, but for some reason it's still not listing as a series. Odd.

A Lit page is 3750 words, give or take. 3k is short by Lit standards. Whenever this comes up, there's generally a consensus that 2 - 3 Lit pages is a bit of a sweet spot (8 - 10k words) for a decent chapter length.

That explains why Putnam (one of my favorite stories on here, and a definite influence on this one) got such low ratings. None of the chapters crack 3k and some don't go too far over 1k.

4-5k seems to be about as big as any of the non-final (non-erotic) chapters in Cedar Station are going to get, and I don't know for sure how those will look in the end.

Sails above Forgotten Worlds (sci-fi/fantasy) will probably have bigger chapters, but not much bigger. QuranTeam (Not a Typo) will quite possibly be shorter.

Considering that my first literary influence was Leo Tolstoy, it's amazing that my chapters manage to get this long. šŸ˜†

Chapter 4 is up.

Why is literotica still not recognizing/displaying the chapters as part of a series? I've placed them all under the same series in my dashboard, and it shows to me that they should be in the same series. But... they're not.
Give it time. For some reason a Manual Series build needs an "approval" - I have no idea why. Your chapter series should auto-build though - unless you've changed it to Manual.

It looks like it is set to Manual, with the other options being "Title A-Z" and "Date Published." But all three of those options are grayed out, so I don't know if it can be changed.

Those are the sort options for your story list, nothing to do with the Series function.

I've found that the functionality of the story page is very device/browser specific. They don't work on my Kindle any more - (they were fine for eight years but fell over with the last major upgrade), but the functionality is fine on my PC. Your device might suffer a similar problem.
