Story Discussion Circle

Is it dead in the water here? Or are we going to try to vamp it up a bit, and have some new stories to discuss?

Personally, I enjoy it when I have the time to read the story thoroughly. I think, though, that there should be some rules about submitting stories for discussion -- such as: must contribute to discussions on three other stories before submitting their own story. (That shouldn't be difficult, and might up the amount of discussion.)

Also, we might just consider trying to advertise when a new story posts. Post a link in the feedback section and in the author section. And Laurel might consider putting a list of discussion stories for the month in the newsletter, as well as a quick explanation of what the story discussion circle is.

Is anyone else interested in trying to make this fly rather than limp along like a one-legged cat?

You got me.. Nothing new has been posted on the circle since Sept. 3rd, although I think I saw a post by WH since then in another section.

Personally, now that school has started for my two monsters, I have a little more time to commit to something like that. (They've been home all summer ) But, now that I have ten minutes without one of the little demons whining at me, there's not much to look at.

Actually it was originally Christo's baby although I got mousetrapped into selecting the stories because I understand how to generate a truly random number.

I've been waiting three weeks to see if anyone noticed the lack of activity because participation has fallen off with every story posted.

Personally, I think it's time for someone with more interest in maintainence and moderation to take over or let it slip peacefully into oblivion.

I could take the reins, and would happily do so, but if there's someone else who is interested in doing so I'd be happy to hand the reins to them. Email me or post here if that sounds like something you'd like to do!

Thanks a ton to Weird Harold for his hard work on that forum and for instituting it in the first place. I tell ya, I can't count the number of improvements and innovations that wouldn't exist on Lit if it weren't for Harold.

Yes, WH -- Thanks for the work you put into it! I know there seems to be a lack of interest in it right now, and has been for a while, but I think, if we make it into a 'big deal', the writers at least will join in a little more. I don't know exactly what doing this would entail, but I'll offer my services, since I seem to be the one with the ideas for vamping it up. I do have time, now that the little monsters are back in school, and can help out for the winter.

Laurel? How would I go about it? I'm about as clueless as a babe in arms, but I learn fast Can I change some of the rules of participation?

Oh, and thanks for putting mine up now *dances around the desk in joy* -- I'll at least do some 'spreading of the word' on that one for a test to see if it helps.
