Story Comments - Do They Matter?

My latest story, 'Pure Temptation' published last Sunday in Mature, just went off the main page last night, so it doesn't show up anymore. Today a reader commented, 'Enjoyed immensely.' It was shown as a new comment, and now 3 more readers picked it as a favorite. Not only was I glad to see that he enjoyed the story, but his comment encouraged other readers to take a look at it, too.

I suppose I should be more than satisfied with the ratings my stories have gathered, but the first only had three comments, including one anonymous idiot. And the second has none.
That said, I'd like to know what readers think of the stories and what I can do to improve my writing. Should I request them at the beginning or end of the story as an "author's note?"
Or should I stop obsessing?
Yes, stop obsessing.

Ever since I found that I could download my story stats in CSV format I started tracking story stats. If we can believe that the view count is an individual read of our stories, my tally shows that on average only 0.09% of reads will garner a comment. On average only 1.57% of reads will generate a vote, and only 0.2% of reads will generate reading list entry, and only 0.1% of story reads will generate a favorite
