Newby here - well, I've had two stories posted but this is my first appearance in the Forum.

I have a story I've written which would appear on the surface to fit into the category "Erotic Couplings" since it is about two people who meet in a bar and...well, I think you can imagine where that leads. However, the story ends with the revelation that he is not human and that theirs was not the chance encounter it appeared to be; she had recently broken up with her boyfriend and he was "assigned" to help her out of the depression she was spiralling into.

Does the fact that one of the characters is not really human mean that it has to be posted in "NonHuman"? I don't want to give away the twist ending where his true nature is revealed, but I also don't want to confuse (or annoy) readers.

I'm not attaching a copy of the story here, but I will if anybody thinks they need to read it to offer an informed opinion. (FYI it's about 3300 words long.)

Welcome to Lit.

I tend to think your story will do better in Non-Human than in Erotic couplings, the readers in Non-human will be judging it properly, while those expecting standard human-human encounters (erotic couplings) will likely vote it down based on content.

Of course, I have not read it and cannot be certain.

You can post it in erotic couplings, and the Lit mgmt may change it to non-human anyway. Final Category placement is up to the site owners.
