So, I haven't written anything for lit since (I had to check) 2003.

I have done some writing here and there though none of it was anything applicable to lit.

And now I'm wanting very much to get back in the game. I look at the categories and just don't know what I want to write though.

I guess what I wanted to know, preferably from other authors, what stories y'all like to read. One thing I remember about back then was that the feedback I got from authors was from those writing a variety of types who still took a gander at My stuff.

Readers, I do value your opinions too, but the readers almost always have one category they love sometimes to the exclusion of all else. Doesn't mean I won't listen though, so go ahead and share what you like too.

Hello badmatt.

I'd say just write your story and it will find a category.

As a writing reader my main criterion is that what I read be written well, that the characters change just a little in the course of the story-- even if it's only that someone finds out they love bowjobs or something!

Personally, I like to read very emotional, very graphic, consensual, BDSM. The struggle for dominance is what gets me going the most, and that can happen even in vanilla sex.

If the details show a lot of ignorance, immaturity, or unthinking male chauvinism (all too often with the straight stuff, and I prefer gay or lesbian for that reason) it's a turnoff and I click away.

What do you think, want to try writing that? ;)

It seems to me that some of the cats here have kind of specialised knowledge involved. I'm sure someone could just plug in details to match the cat-- "she fucked her son," , or "she fucked a big black man," or "she fucked a lesbian" ad nauseum -- on one basic, plotless, pointless story. I don't know how happy that would make a real afficiando though.

*laughs*
Yeah, I suppose I could go that route. I just find all the twisted shit up in My head rattles around too much when I don't have a focus.

Stella, honestly, you just inspired Me!

For a second it was she fucked her big black son and her lesbian cheerleader neighbor, but then I thought about it and it wasn't working for Me. So I may just go off the deep end with a little Female Dominatrix Meets 'Boy Wonder' (he's that all around athlete type that dated the prom queen, and always thought he was top dog, until he tried to control this one). That story's been cooking in My head for years...it's continued to cook mostly because it's quite possibly the exact opposite of the thesis My life's all about.

Hmm...Thanks.

Welcome back.

Myself, I just write the story and worry about what genre to place it in after I'm done.

I'm with Stella that it helps to have some character change during the story.
