hi... i'm wondering, does anybody know what the average length of time it takes for a story to be accepted? I sent a new one in and it seems to be taking a long time.

Just a note, approval make take longer if your story includes violence or is too extreme.

Usually three to five days. May take up to a week if the story contains sex with sheep or renting of pigs.

you could also re-post, just in case it got lost in the ...mail? Go to your profile page where your submission list is and see if it still says 'still pending', click on that link and read what follows...

you could also send them an email ('contact us' address) and ask them what's up...Besides, due to the holidays, things could have slowed down...It took a bit longer for my most recent story to be posted, about 7 or 8 days...

I could be mistaken, but I always thought that if you re-submit while pending, your submission goes to the back of the queue again...

THAT MAY BE TRUE, HOWEVER, YOU MAY THEN GET IT POSTED...I WOULD CONTACT TO FIND WHAT THE HOLD-UP IS BEFORE RE-SENDING. IF THE STORY STILL SAYS THAT IT IS STILL PENDING, I WOULD WANT TO KNOW WHY, EH?

Patience...

Due to overload, especially around the beginning of the month, I've found it might take up to 10-12 days.

And I'd be very crapped off if I got an email saying I wasn't working fast enough!

Actually, it is true. If you press submit it goes to the end of the editor's list. Don't open the story unless you plan on editing it. I know this for a fact because the webmaster told me.

Right now it takes about 5 days.

PATIENCE??? PATIENCE you say??? Who me? ;-) I was just talking with someone an hour ago about patience. Not my strong suit these days, although I'm having to force my self to work on it. That would be on a different thread.
Anyway, thanks for everybody's input. I thought about contacting them and asking but last time I did that (different subject matter), I never got any response. I think I sent two emails.

I was thinking, too, that it might also be the holidays and that maybe they were getting more stories now that the holidays are over. You know January... dreary, nothing exciting going on. Need to spice up the drama a little...
