Story about a son coming of age and welcomed to the family.

Son becomes of age and is given a necklace or pendant that shows he is accepted into the family and allowed to participate. After he gets the pendant he goes to visit his girlfriend. Her mom notices the pendant and goes and brings out her husband and they are the same. He then calls his dad to confirm some information and brings his girlfriend and her mom to his house. They contact an uncle from New York and confirms that this is the missing family pendant. So his girlfriend is actually his cousin and her mom is his aunt.

Any help in locating would be appreciated.

Additional info. The girlfriend’s mom husband died and they are struggling to live on just her income. Since the husband died before his wife and daughter was introduced into his family life. While the husbands family did not know that he died just he disappeared and was always trying to find him.

So the son brings his Girlfriend/Cousin and her mom to his house to introduce everyone. His dad reaches out to someone at 7/11 to get her a better job. They are invited to join the family on vacation or a cruise. His girlfriend/cousin kind of goes wild and ignores her boyfriend. She spends time with another cousin from New York. He decides to let her go. He decides he doesn’t want to continue with the family way.
Not sure if it is a multi part or just a long story.
