This morning we had a big ass storm and after one loud zap I heard a loud CRACKING noise and BOOM. A tree fell at the end of the driveway. It missed my car (thank god) and didn't hit anyone. I live on a cul-de-sac which now has two ducks swimming on it. So here I sit stuck without a way to get my car past this large chunk of cellulose. It has dripped, rained, drooled and deluged us all day long. Does anyone want to come over and play video games with me? I'll even make popcorn.

You had a day like I did with the storms. Except I stayed in bed a little longer to enjoy the sound of the thunder moving in and then on.

Another big storm came through after lunch. It was so loud I had a hard time hearing a conversation on speaker phone on our conference room!

We haven't had too many cool thunderstorms this summer. We've been cheated.

re:storms

i recall many times when i was much much younger when i used to sit out on the front step and watch the lightning in the distance and listen to the thunder.
naturally, when the lightning got too close, my parents would call me inside, but i would just watch from the front door or window.
nature puts on a great show.

Excellent point Batter!

I too have the fondest memories of running about in the summer rain. Splashing through puddles and letting mud ooze between my toes. The feeling of the rain running down my body and the later the softness of my hair with it's rainwater rinse. The thunder and bolts of light never frightened me for some reason. I laughed the louder it got. Then after the smell of green things and the musky smell of the earth. Very fond memories.

Lazer, you know who would love to be there with you now. Bet he would even let you hold his "hand" if you got frightened, or pretended you were.

Or you could invite the ducks in. And write another story....

Thanks Merelan! I started this thread hoping to distract some from the less constructive of us on the BB. As usual it does not draw the way a good flame on thread does. Sighs, so much negativity cannot be good for anyone. Big hugs to you sweet lady.
