Stories taking a long time to publish

I’m heading into three weeks with 7 stories waiting to be published. I’m not sure if this is typical. I’m thinking of removing all my stories. Perhaps I’ll go back to just reading other writers stories.

That's a lot of stories at one time, and if these are your first submissions, it's going to take time. Once you have been established as an author on Lit, the wait times usually go down.

Thank you for the feedback. My first story went up in two days. I've had no stories published since then. I will just wait.

If you're publishing in one of the multimedia categories (anything that's not pure text), that can take longer.

Otherwise, three weeks sounds unusually long, and it might be worth messaging Laurel to check what's up.

Patience is best. Seven stories all at once from a new writer, at the same time a contest was running, is always going to be slow.

My recommendation is, don't touch the stories, but send a polite email to Laurel, asking if they've got lost. You probably won't get a response, but your stories might progress from Pending to New, with a publication date.

Dumb question. I see people mention when they know when their story is going to go live or be published. How does that happen?

I clicked "Publish" on my next story about ten hours ago.

I can tell you it will go public on 7/12/2025 because it's been approved and that's the date they've assigned for it to go public.

Now for those of you who have long wait times, mine seem to go faster because this is my 73rd story on LitE, with 70% of them in Loving Wives. I'm a shitty writer, so there's no doubt that an AI wrote this crap. (An AI would do a better job.) It's consistent with my writing style in NOT including anything related to underage. And it's basically about sharing and swingers, which is my usual theme.

It's that consistency which allows the moderators to quickly scan my story for approval, when they can immediately see "Yeap! It's Lifestle66's same old shit again." It saves them time by just clicking "approved" so they can spend more time putting a new author's story under their microscope. My first twenty stories sometimes took a week or two. And I even had one of my earliest stories sent back as "disapproved". So, I don't push any limits since then.
