Stories stuck in Pending?

Hey all I have two stories that appear to be stuck in Pending ... one's been there for a while. What's the official process for getting things moving or asking why? It feels strange to not have feedback as to why they're in limbo.

Thanks in advance.

I think they've just stopped caring now! and messaging them is pointless.

Them? As in the site owners / managers / whatevers?

They really giving up? Kinda does feel like it a bit.

The status on "Boyfriend's Dad" means that it's scheduled to be published tomorrow (tonight shortly after midnight, US Central Time I believe), don't touch that one or it will get pulled back out of the queue and start at the back of the line.

For "A Fall," I wouldn't panic just yet. It does sometimes take up to one or two weeks for a story to be published (or rejected, in which case you'll get a different status tag on it), based on factors that we don't totally understand.

If it's been longer than two weeks, the standard answer is that the story may have been lost in the shuffle (we don't really know what the review process looks like on the site owner's end). You can try messaging Laurel the owner here in the forum, she rarely responds directly but will often look up your story and get it back in the publishing queue.

I'd ping Laurel about "Fall". Almost two weeks is a long time for an experienced / vetted author, which given your 48 published stories you obviously are.

I guess 'they' have just seen this as Fall has been rejected, just seconds ago. But no notification as to why yet. I can guess why ... but will wait and see.

Interesting that this appears to have powered up some action. Thank you in advance.

If the story was moved from your "Pending" tab to your "Sent Back" tab, clicking on it should display a message from the site admins, usually just a pre-written reference to one of the story submission guidelines, and that will usually be your sole clue to what got the story rejected and how you can fix it.

If you want to share what that message is, some of the authors here can probably give some guidance on what the problem is :)
