Hello all,

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but an author named MELD9003 removed several of his stories from the page. I was a particular fan of these and am sorry to see them leave. Just curious to see if there is any way to recover these works and/or convince him/her to put them back online.

If he removed them he removed them for his own reasons, I would respect his wishes, they're his and he can do what he want's with them. Maybe he's editing them and they will come back latter.

...and maybe they've been taken down permanently.

There was a thread on this not so long ago. The general view was that folk should respect the writer's wishes - if the stories are gone, they're most likely gone for a reason.

You could always try a PM to the author, asking nicely. You might get a reply, you might get silence.

That has been taken a step further, at least in story feedback where Bard announced he will remove any link to where a story someone is looking for might be archived. Of course the site has no control over Pm's, but it looks like they are taking an extra step to protect the writers wishes.

Well, technically speaking, redirecting people to other reading/archiving websites (added bonus of one which's a Literotica copy-cat) falls under spam/advertisement rule. It's nothing new.

Bard just broke it down for the simple peasants.

I respect that people want to pull down their stories, but once something is out there on the internet, it's impossible to be sure that all of its traces will be gone. You can't stop archive bots from combing through websites and storing materials. Once it's there, it's there for the whole world to see.

So a part of the responsibility falls on the author too. He/She should consider what they're getting into before posting something on the internetz. Also, archiving is for research purpose, not for perverts trying to get their rocks off. That's also something some archive-bashers need to understand.
