Stories not getting reviewed quickly

Hi, I'm new to Literotica and have been submitting my stories, but nearly all of them are still awaiting review or publication.

It's been roughly a month now. Could someone please check on this? Also, could you provide an estimate of how long the review process typically takes?

Sorry to hear about your stories. You've written, you upload it and... nothing. It can be really, really frustrating.

There's some indication that new authors get more scrutiny, and some categories. Even so, a month is a long time. First, check whether your stories are actually listed under the "Pending" tab, not "Drafts". It's an easy mistake to make, particularly early on. I know I did it once. You have to keep clicking through the process until you get there.

If that's not the problem, the usual advice is to send a polite DM to Laurel, the site owner. She's in charge of reviewing all the stories. If you go to your Pending folder and open a story, you can (apparently) copy the URL and include it in your message: that saves her a lot of time. I've never done that, though, but other people have suggested it.

In the meantime: don't mess with your stories. Don't make any changes. Leave them as they are. Every time you edit and resubmit, you're essentially starting the process all over.

Same issue here…mine was submitted a week ago, but taking longer than the stated 2 - 5 days. I just wish I knew what the issue was, is it just a long que?

Yes, mostly just a long queue. Remember that there's only one person reviewing all the stories, and there are about 200-250 new stories every day.

The 2-5 days is probably a leftover from years ago.

Yes, long queue. The FAQs are out of date on this one.

New writers can be a week or more, established writers typically 2 - 4 days. Sometimes, 24 hours. It's unpredictable, but don't automatically assume something's wrong. If it's not Rejected or New, it just means no-one's looked at it yet. And whatever you do, don't pull it back to Draft and resubmit. Do that, and the clock starts all over again.

Also, new writers are scrutinized more to ensure you are obeying submission rules, where old timers are sort of on an honor system. I think.
