Im new here and I must say that most of the stories Ive read are good, but the ones that I thought were excellent, are all written by the female members, so here's to you wonderful ladies.

Hello thobbingcock,

M-m what a slutty little name you have there, I like it!

There are many excellent authors in Lit, of both sexes.

I think the reason you may enjoy female authors more is quite possibly because you are a male. And judging by your name, a hot and horny one at that. ;)

As a basically (but not always) hetro female, I find I have both male and female authors on my 'top read' list. Although my special favourites are all male. Some men just seem to know how to write for females. They just know which buttons to press. Mm... they sure press mine.

Your posting is interesting. I wonder how many other people out there prefer a male to a female author, or visa versa?

Well have a great day.

Alex

Interesting topic....*smiles*

I too enjoy stories from both male and female writers. But I also know many authors who definately try to "cater" to a specific audience of readers ...that being male/female. And in that way will take on a pen-name of the opposite sex at times. Sometimes even Erotica is fickle and this tactic does work better at times.

Now for the question...any authors here have a pen-name that is of the opposite sex then themselves?

Look in this thread, kristy!

I prefer female authors on the whole (off the hole, I prefer gardening) but as I have said before in another life, I read ronde's stories and was convinced he was female. His insights into women seemed to be so, er, insightful. I think the guy is a great observer.
I've recently tried a serious story from a woman's POV (which is of course not quite the same as trying to write in a "female" style, whatever that is, exactly)

I love the_bragis's stories -- she sometimes writes about the same stuff as I do, but more from the woamn's POV. It's great, like having another camera angle.

Female POV

I tend to write my stories in the female POV even though I am male. This started basically from writing stories for my wife. It just seemed easier for her to get into them when she could "feel" the part she was reading.

Do I always get it right? I seriously doubt it. But you would be surprised by the number of feedbacks I get adressing me like I am female. Maybe they should learn to check out my profile.

In general though, I think it depends on what you are writing. Men are not tender beings with emotions and sensations. They are hunters and go for what they want. More story, female POV. More action, male POV.
