Ok, I thought looking through the writer resources or FAQ I had seen advice on how to best write multiple submissions as part of a larger story so they are chapters but I can't find it again. I thought I saw it when looking up other stuff but not sure if I'm confusing it with something else like chained stories. Is there a preferred method of submitting chapters of a larger story on here?

And please forgive all the newbie questions, enthusiastic and trying to learn my way around here better.

Submitting chapter stories is like submitting stand-alones, you just put "Ch. 0X" in the title field when you submit. It's better to use leading zeroes on your chapter numbers. If you don't, then your story will list like this:

Title Ch. 1
Title Ch. 10
Title Ch. 11
Title Ch. 2

Leading zeroes will keep the numeric order intact.

I also tend to put a note in the notes field that this is Ch X of a multi-chapter story. If the story is finished, I'll specify that it's chapter 3 of 5.

Some authors, if a story is finished, will submit all chapters at one time, and Laurel will post them in order, one at a time on different days.

You can also do them as parts, with several chapters in each part.

But make sure that your original title is short enough to allow the Chapter 01 or Part 01 to be included in the title field. The main title part must be absolutely identical including spaces.

If the original title is short enough, you can also include a short subtitle, but that is better kept to the description field:

Lady X Ch.01 Meeting
Lady X Ch.02 First Kiss
Lady X Ch.03 Bed
Lady X Ch.04 Why?
Lady X Ch.05 Conflict
Lady X Ch.06 Apart
Lady X Ch.07 Tears
Lady X Ch.08 Apology
Lady X Ch.09 Bed Again
Lady X Ch.10 Nuptial
Lady X Ch.11 Twins
Lady X Ch.12 Diapers
Lady X Ch.13 Post Natal
Lady X Ch.14 Despair
Lady X Ch.15 Together
Lady X Ch.16 More Bed
etc.
