I decided the time felt right to try and kick the habit so, I picked a day, Sunday. Stupidly, thought it would be o.k. Bearable.

What kind of dumb ass am I????

I am climbing the goddam walls!!!!!!

Think it may be time to admit that I AM addicted and therefore require a little assistance!!!

Oh well...

I have a friend doing the same thing at the moment, although he has transferred his addiction from cigarettes to Nicorett patches :)

I think the company has just tripled its profitts out of this.

Best of luck to you hon...

I need to quit but I have to wait until my life is settled down a bit more first.

Have you tried anything to help with the withdrawal?

I quit smoking in September.. using the Nicorette patch.

It was one of the easiest things I've ever done in my life.
I slipped once.. not really slipped.. but I had a stressful time in my life in December.. I thought a cig would help my nerves. All it did was make me gag and choke. Haven't touched one since.

Good luck :)

I've been at it for a couple of weeks. I used to smoke about 2 1/2 packs a day. I'm using gum and drugs and I'm getting down to about 5-6 smokes a day. It really sucks. My quit day is Monday.

Crikey, that was quick!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

I will do it. It's just going to be alot harder than I thought! Does anyone have any idea, roughly, how long I'm gonna feel so incredibly shitty for??? I guess it varies from person to person?

Freakygurl!!!???

Congrats but,Easy!!??? Christ!!! Maybe I should try the patches, Easy I could cope with! :)

Been tryin to kick the nasty ass habit myself...Good luck to you and if you learn any tricks along the way, feel free to share.

Pot helps.

Seriously, it does.

i quit cold turkey after 30 plus years of 2 1/2 packs a day. i literally halucenated for two days, stayed the hell away from everyone for another two and then it really became bearable. after seven or eight days it was quite controllable and after two weeks the cravings, even the psycological ones were gone. it's been five years or so now and now i can't remember why i liked 'em so much.

hang in there and if you can do it without the gum or patches it'll go a lot quicker. drink lots and lots of water and cranberry juice and it'll help get the poisons out of your body alll that much quicker.

good luck!

Also, when you shower, scrub yourself with a brush that has fairly stiff bristles to grate the nicotine out of your skin.

The patches smell even worse when you light them, don't do it.

Find something to do with your hands, and maybe your mouth, while avoiding the situations that cue the urge to smoke. You can overcome the chemical pull if you can avoid falling back into old habits.

LOL!!

Hmmm... tonight, I did find somethin else to do with my hands and mouth! Lets just say, Someone is sleeping peacefully, almost with a smile!

...Blow jobs are especially fun around this time. :D The second week, you'll still mentally want one, but they would make you physically ill...
If blow jobs make me ill I am taking up smoking, I swear it.
