I swore I would never visit iTunes because if I did, and if I found out it really was as easy as I'd heard to find obscure songs that no one else cares about anymore, then I'd have to challenge the system by doing a search for Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way," the shameful evidence that I once loved disco. Yes. Disco. The cheap porn of music. Omigod. Tell me they don't also have the "good" cut of "Who's that Lady" by the Isley Brothers. Of course they do. How embarrassing. I love that one cut of that one song and I don't even remember anything else by the Isley Brothers.
So now I have to own an iPod. I've been happy without an iPod, as I used to be happy without a cell phone. It's all over now. I'm an iPod junky. All I need is the actual hardware. I'll buy it tonight at amazon on my credit card, just in case I'm over the impulse tomorrow when the stores are open. That's how addiction works.
Help. Call the fire department. Call Bellsouth DSL. Stop me. Do something. Don't leave me this way.
