All of you, I'm serious. I'm having a hard time doing Laurel's footwork in tracking all the old threads that have been bumped. You guys, please, you're making my job a lot harder than it needs to be.

What's the issue with bumping old threads? (I like seeing them again.)

If they were *stupid* old threads it'd be one thing, but they're pretty good old discussion territory for the most part.

I miss serijules.

Someone was bumping old threads with the intent of being disruptive to the board.

I have been talking to Laurel to get this person banned for this reason and several others.

She asked me to prove to her by sending her links.

But instead of easily finding the proof all neatly lined up on the first page, I'm having to hunt through each and every thread to find that ALMOST EVERYONE ELSE has now taken to doing the same thing.

So, you know, I guess I'm just a little mad.

Most of the time I wouldn't mind, but this is HIGHLY inconvenient for what me and a few other people are TRYING to do.

What're you trying to do?

At this juncture let's put it this way, my ignore button is engaged, Captain. All I see are old threads.

Oh. Derp. read THEN post.

Then I hope you won't mind if I bump -this- thread so it shows up as the one with the "most recent post" to anyone looking at the BDSM Talk forum.

That's absolutely fine. Post as often as you want in this one.

I'm up to the second page but I really think this is a futile mission. Most of the threads have been bumped by OTHER people than the one I'm trying to collect evidence about.

All she'd have to do is see the BDSM talk page, see twenty threads started by loser and then his forty or so replies to his own threads where no one else responds.

Yeah, tried that already. Our lovely site owner is far more...forgiving...than I'd like.

The old threads were bumped to get BLoated's twenty new threads off the front page.

Just sent Laurel the links to BLoated's twenty threads.

Tried that already. See above posts. She asked for SPECIFIC EVIDENCE that he was bumping SPECIFIC old threads. I'm having a hard time finding all of them because he's not the only one doing it now.

Hit Bloated's profile, go to the link "find more posts by Bloated" and hit that link. His bumps will all be lined up for you.

At the very least they should be moved because they are just more of his writing.

Talk to Laurel. Seriously. PM her. PLEASE. If more people directed her attention to how collectively unhappy he's made the BDSM board, perhaps she'd actually be willing to do something.

Hit this person's profile, go to the link "find more posts by ___ and hit that link. His bumps will all be lined up for you.

Yes, that was my next mission.

he didn't bump old threads. he just created twenty new ones that don't belong in Talk.

9. Flooding the forum with posts, screen-breaking text, or images - or bumping old threads - and/or any non-substantive activity with the intent of disrupting the forum is prohibited.

11. Please post content in the appropriate forum. We do not believe in censorship, but your posts will be moved or removed if you do not read the forum title before hitting "SUBMIT". Personal ads should be posted in the "Personals" forum, story ideas in the "Story Ideas" forum, BDSM issues in the BDSM forum, random nonsense on the General Board, and so on.

he violated both of those rules.

EDIT: Crap, nevermind. Someone else bumped the one I was thinking of...

Um... hi. I started bumping a few old threads that happen to actually involve interesting topics and discussions to try and offer something to read, think about, and discuss other than the current drama. There are some seriously kick ass threads (and posters) from years ago that can still offer interesting, insightful, meaningful discussion... if you want a healthy, thriving, interesting forum - engage in the threads and discussions encouraging that sort of forum; bump old threads and/or add to the discussion. There are plenty of people around here who have never really gotten to read ShadowsDream, or ADR, or RJMasters, or much of AA's thoughts, much less Francisco's or Shank's or Eviktar, or BlueSugar, or Cimbidia, or Ebonyfire, or SawMan...

There are better things to do than feed the drama.
There are better things to do than offer attention.

That's exactly what I've been trying to do, this was a sort of...last ditch effort. Trust, I don't want to feed into this ANY MORE than what's already been done.

But, no offense, you created another thread about the drama.

I don't think he is specifically disrupting the boards as such by making threads and I've oly seen a couple of threads he's bumped. as he is on ignore it is no longer an issue for me.

y'all stop reacting and making him vanity threads and ignore him and he'll stop.

Honestly, I think you're wasting your time. Trolls are impossible to get rid of by banning. Even if they do get banned, they'll create another account. Even if you IP ban them, they'll use a proxy server and continue to troll. Even if you banned every proxy server in the net, they could still go to internet cafes, use a connection with an ever changing IP or any other internet access. The only way around that is to make the forum invite only and hand approve people, which not only cuts off people from that troll's area from joining due to the rotating IP thing, but cuts off any other new members that don't know a current member. The only way to deal with trolls on an open forum is to not feed them. ;)

I'm a fully self aware adult, CM. I know that.

Which is exactly why after this post, I'm not posting into this thread anymore. ^_^
